I play games with my gf often and we enjoy team based play a lot. We come from playing wow if that matters to anyone. We are by no means fanboys/girls of wow we actually are hoping someone can step up and take that game down since the balance in the game is getting really bad and developers are not seeming to care anymore.

The game alone can be really fun in the pve aspect but as far as pvp the big killer for me is not being able to play with her on structured pvp. We like to play together no q against eachother. I know people are crying about premades and say play tournament but if your new random bgs are great for practice. Tournament is ranked where as randoms is not to my understanding.

All in All: besides the camera movement in hight areas being kinda wonky not being able to play with my friends in structured pvp is a let down. Just my opinion thought. I am having fun in the game but that one thing is enough for me to just look for another game.

Was unaware of that. I goggled this “problem” for me and others were complaining about it without mentioning the switch team option. I was unaware you could switch team. Still, would be nice to q together.

You can switch teams only if there’s uneven number of players or unbalanced distribution of players…only then you can switch from the team with more to one with less players. If you have fast PC, you can also switch at the beginning of the match, before all players join in, but still, that’s not permanent solution…

Well, I dont mind killing my bf or getting killed by him in game, but if we want to play together in same team we play free tournaments ofc. That’s how you solve it. Sure, if you cant get your other friends to fill the team it’s grouping with pugs and that’s same in hot join as well so what’s the problem really except perhaps getting less glory… might be worth it to be able to play together in same team at all times right? It’s also fairly easy to team swap in hotjoins, never been really an issue to us. I can’t see the problem really. There are options to play with your significant other…
I come from wow as well, but to me pretty much any other mmo out there is better than wow, and if you don’t feel the same well… it’s not a crime playing wow, and it’s also not a crime playing many different games for joy. Seems like you and gf aren’t into competitive business so you can just try out games a little here and there and play as you please and for fun.

However, when it comes to GW2 I explained that you can play with your gf at all time, in hotjoin (team swapping, if not available just leave and join another game… no punishment for leaving), and free tournaments… pretty much all spvp there is tbh. Try again =)

Free Tournaments are not ranked, and are great for practice too!

You should definitely queue together in a Free Tournament if you want to play on the same team. That is sadly the only 100% guarantee that you are always on the same team.
Switching teams on random servers is sometimes unreliable, and teams might be scrambled every battle, so it’s not guaranteed, sadly.

Agree, even with the problems free tourneys have they are way better than hotjoin. The word “Tournament” makes it seem like a big deal but more and more casual players are switching to tournaments. So, tournaments have pretty much become the best option for casual and hardcore players.
