Bassically a straightforward question. I’m wondering what off season ranked offers that makes it different from unranked and ranked? Since u get no pips. And leaderboards are appearantly not there either. I’m genuinely wondering what off season ranked does in terms of placement?Where is the competetive aspect? Aside from potentially maby better matches.

it uses ranked match making and not unranked match making.

Does your MMR get reset when the real ranked season starts? Or is this good for giving the game a way to guage skill prior to ranked season?

will off season ranked mmr affect our season 4 ranked mmr ?

Until they say they reset MMR, yes it will.

With patch notes, they will use ranked MMR and old MM for the queue.

It will impact your MMR.

For those in MMR HELL, it is your chance to work it. Because both team should be “bad” in low MMR, so you will probably (if you can carry games) go back to average MMR.

My original suggestion at the time was to make 3 separate MMRs, so off-season ranked would not affect season play. It’d just be a way to separate players looking for more serious matches from people who just want to play casually.

Well, I did 2 or 3 ranked queue and the MM was kinda not working for my Duo. We switch back to unranked.

It would be nice to have a high ranked MMR players confirmed if he feels his MMR is low… cause yesterday, it was too low to accept 3 randoms noob for me.

I cant understand why they keep making new ways to spread out the pvp player base. Things would be more balanced if they would stop spreading us out. btween hotjoins and personal servers and unranked and ranked. With all the players this game has lost over the years with sub par balancing attempts and the same ole maps day after day. We are tired of the waiting time in queue and the horrible match making. All of this is a lack of players being bunched up in a single queue, instead like I said they are spread thin because of all the different levels and queue.

I think its time to get rid of hotjoins

Make ranked for those serious pvp-ers trying to win pips and make a name for them selves.

and unranked for the rift raft!

It’s a way for me to avoid playing C rapricorn.

What do you mean the MM wasn’t working? Like you had bad teammates or your opponents were too bad/good for your team? He did mention if he used the old original ranked matchmaking MMR, it’d be extremely volatile. I mean, if they didn’t change anything, it would’ve been decaying from October 2015 since we last had access to ranked.

You get to play with other people wanting to play a serious ranked game. Instead of everyone being thrown into unranked, and the serious players having to put up with the joke that is super casuals, and super casuals suffering serious players.

Yeah. Our Duo MMR who should be average have 3 randoms that don’t know how to play the game.

But since I did boycott ranked queue for season 3 (because unranked give me more competitive matches), I am not sure if my MMR decayed too much… but if it’s the case, well losing because I got noob who +2 on point, will not make my MMR back up.

So, since MMR is the important for the MM, they should say what MMR is used into off-season ranked queue.
