One boring game mode. Warriors that take 6 opponents to kill. Mesmers that can 1 shot any non-warrior class and thanks to the new signet are also now unkillable. Thieves that can never be caught. Fair builds are simply not viable, you have to cheese out to do anything.

Can someone explain to me why people enjoy this? I do 3 matches a day for my daily and it’s insufferable. Not to mention I’m stuck on 7/8 professions killed because 90% of the players are warrior or mesmer.

I literally just saw a warrior kill 5 of the opposing team and walk off at full health. How is this in any way considered fun?

One boring game mode.

I think the gamemode itself is quite fine. But its not that fun in an unorganized group. People end up zerging around and attacking whatever is in sight.

If you play in a good group though it can be a lot of fun. There is proper communication needed, proper rotations, awareness, personal skill etc.

So the main downside is that it isnt intuitive / beginner friendly enough to be embraced by a big enough crowd. Which is a really bad situation since you need an intuitive gamemode if you want the pvpcommunity to grow.

They are working on and testing several new gamemodes atm. Since they got a lot of feedback from the community and they have some pvp players working for them right now, i have no doubt that these will be good.

While some warrior builds are too tanky and have too much regen for the dmg they can do (condi bunkers mainly). I dont think any warrior build can solo entire teams.

With 2 people you should be able to kill any player of any class or build, unless both of you are bunker vs another bunker. If you do get solod 2v1 or even 3v1, you got outplayed big time or you dont know what youre doing in terms of your build / avoiding dmg / dealing proper dmg.

Ive never met a player that is an exception (and i played 1000’s of games incl. vs some of the best in eu). A guy that can solo 2 capable people with decent enough builds just doesnt happen unless people screw up big time.

the hyperbole is strong with this one.

the appeal of PvP, is PvP. you don’t sound like you enjoy PvP, otherwise you would be doing it for more than just a daily. if you do enjoy PvP, then you need to increase your class knowledge / update your build so you can dispense the majority of your hyperbolic statements with actual counters to the problems you are facing.

it takes time to learn all your match ups in PvP & longer to gain consistent execution with that information. if you find learning & improving to be fun, then there is much to be had.

OP plays Hotjoin everyday 3 games and he only say why it is not fun and why he dont play more. You can´t say to all new palyers they should play more, get a team, play meta builds …… all this stuff.
New Players go hotjoin and get facerolled by all the cheeese, and ye it is possible to 3v1 there or more, and don´t see how this can be fun, normal they just leave and never come back.
It´s a reason why PVP-Playerbase is not growing and something arenanet could learn from.
Sure we had now some more players with the new rewards but the real PVPers sitting in Mists all day see this was only cause cause people had to waste their glory and this palyer-wve is allready shrinking again.

I bought this game for the sPvP aspect…but I don’t like sPvP in GW2 at all right now.

And before you say I don’t enjoy pvp…I led a r80-120 guild in GW1, I loved gvg. What I don’t enjoy about sPvP in this game is the constant cap and hold. Every. Game. I am hoping the new game modes will bring some more variety to builds and shake up sPvP in general.

There are some cheese builds out there, but that is a really tough problem to fix when you have so many skills at play in the game. Most of the time, new ones are created when old ones are fixed or when skills are updated for another aspect of the game. GW1 had that problem, and they ended up having 2-3 different versions of multiple skills, and I know that is not something ANET wants to deal with again.

You get to /rank on people you kill in wvw or bads in dungeons. I keep playing so I can drop a dragon on them one day.

You have gotten what you paid for, all that remains is biweekly gemshop pushing.

Try some solo arenas, or solo queue into team arenas. Hotjoins aren’t my favorite either. People usually just play some cheesy build and never leave the safety of the herd, making intelligent playing very difficult.

If you go solo arena, you’ll get a nicely-organized match in which everyone starts at the beginning and tries to win, usually. The teams are never autobalanced mid-match. You’ll get matchmaking, which hotjoins don’t have—seeing people so clueless that they can all die to one warrior is rare.

If you go team arena, you’ll likely face premade groups several times until your matchmaking rating falls low enough to see other solo players queuing for teams. People do that because the rewards are higher and the maps are better, but obviously you also run the risk of having to fight an organized team with a pug. It’s a fair trade-off.
