After hundreds of games played in ranked arena, I feel like personal score should be removed. There are so many people that seems to be quite new in pvp in ranked arena (no idea why, but this is another topic) and as far as I’ve seen, they care about their personal points more than winning or anything else.

Most common example: After winning fight in close point, 3 people stand there, just to get 10 points instead of rushing to other points and take advantage of situation. When you point out that they are doing something wrong, they start calling you noob and their strongest argument is that you have worse personal score than them, so at the end, you are the one to be blamed.

Lately there is so much of this behaviour to be seen and I feel like people would care much more about actual game if there would be no personal points. Maybe you could rework it, so even running through the point would give you 10 points once its captured.

Those are usually the same people that goes AFK after getting those 10 points.
Can’t be helped if they are useless.

Times like that I keep spamming shift clicks on the map, usually they pay more attention to anonymous dots on the mini-map than someone complaining on chat.

Personal score doesn’t mean anything,, Just like the leader boards. You can’t determine how skillful a player is based on how many games played. Now if they had actual Arenas where you can 2v2,, 3v3 .etc. with an actual team leader board. Then we might be able to determine if it was skillful.

IMO,, get rid of personal score and the Leaderboards where you just grind games for points, cause the only players gaining are the people on premades or one that grind games

Personal score is only good to monitor roamers really. Thieves, Mesmers, Engies or whoever is roaming should be near the top, but the amount they have is pretty meaningless. It’s a flawed system for sure.

The point of personal score is to often mislead people into making poor rotations and poor strategic choices, and feel good about those decisions because the game is spoon feeding them gold stars by their name.

Personal score point’s only benefit is that it adds into your rank points and thus your pvp experience bar (deer, dolyak etc.). People that care about that are usually those that want the reward tracks or they new animal finisher ASAP and fell every little bit helps or hostile player that want to make a competition out of everything rather than help their own team.

Player A in team A: “Ha! I have more capture than you Player B! You suck.”
Player B in team A: “Shut up and help us kitten it!”

To remove the leaderboard system will have to force the devs to make a new system and thus leave pvp unplayable or unusable until a replacement is in place.

Removing the leader board shouldnt force them to make a new one… There has be other mmo’s with PvP style battlegrounds they didnt have leader boards, ex WoW, Daoc,,, Yea WoW had the arena leader boards but those were totally separate from the battlegrounds.

What would be wrong with just Queing up just to kill people, because that is basically what half the casual/new people tend to do anyway.

Anet shouldnt force people to make premade teams, where you are possibly have to commit to certain times for you team. Maybe they should just make an Arena and give people an incentive to form some sort of team that why premades can play with premades
