I have a love/hate relationship with the warrior class, it’s been one of my mains since launch next to mesmer, but for over a year, warrior just doesn’t feel like it’s supposed to. I want to like it so badly, but it just doesn’t feel right. Maybe I was used to the wrong way of playing all these years, but I always imagined warrior as a tanky brute. When I wasn’t porting around on my frail but agile mesmer, I felt like taking hits and dishing out damage on my warrior. Axebow was probably my favorite of the warrior builds.

I thought berserker was going to be the in your face aggressive damage dealer, but dragonhunter does that. With the exception of macebow (which was nerfed), everytime berserker is good for damage, it’s always sniping with the rifle. I feel like I should be in their face swinging around an axe, burning something I’m not sure, but sniping with a rifle is the go to choice? I feel like when melee weapons take the back seat on a berserker/warrior, that just doesn’t seem right.

What? Warriors are easily the best melee brawlers in the game.

Rifle warrior is a novelty build that sees little play at mid to high MMR since there are so much better options for warrior.

or choose power. perform a correct rotation and get ez kills. just dont waste everything on blocks.

or bring / trait for sig of might, classes that rely on blocks are now free kills.

warrior has several options for pvp, condi, hybrid, and power, with dif weapon sets to boot! other classes WISH they had as many options.

You might be seeing alot of rifle warrior simply because there is alot of different ways to play it.

Like you can go arms and play signets, go a little more traditional and go discipline. Or you can be a mad man and go no defense and go for a straight glass power build, which can be fun.

Otherwise warrior is very dependent on stances. Warrior is stuck in this place where it can be good in 1 vs 1 but isnt very good in 2 vs 2. Its also in this place where it can absorb damage and tank for a little bit. Yet when the 10 sec of stance durations go away, your kind of a sitting duck in team fights.

I dont know how you would classify warrior but i would simply put it as the jack of all trades. It isnt the best at anything and it isnt the worst at anything. Yet warrior has the option to play melee,range and condi though each of these builds is played with stances and defense/beserker trait line.

The warrior is a pretty strong class, but I think it works best with backup. 1 warrior with 1 caster, and we rush over capture points.

What do you mean what? Stack 10 stacks of bleed in 2 seconds… Im joking. That condi build is so kittening boring. I used to play rifle war ever since few months ago and it is still viable. It’s really fun to play too. If you get targeted just use your great sword to run away. That way you can survive for pretty long time

i mean id say i play power warrior pretty kitten well. but i am just not a fan of condi. shrugs

Warrior is the worst spvp class at the moment wish I knew what some of you were talking about. OP is right. There is no compelling reason to play a warrior. Rifle? Seriously.

if warrior is bad, I think it must be because your fingers with any class is bad, Berseker and warrior are in good condition within the pvp, pve and WVW.

power is great, & i am playing rifle/axe atm. however condi is beastly & highly recommend.

power is great, & i am playing rifle/axe atm. however condi is beastly & highly recommend.

the reason i stopped playing condi is the most popular classes can clear it easily. with power i can still kill other warriors and dh’s really easy. while still being able to kill every other class if im decent. where as on condi im limited if a class has a lot of clear like warriors dh’s rangers etc.

To give an update I did make a condo build that doesn’t feel too bad, it’s niche but fun nonetheless. I’m not sure if condo warrior will stand the competition, this is me trying to dive into what warrior is supposed to offer that other classes cannot

Just b-line the Druid and beat the snot out of them as they try to escape with pathetic inefficiency!
