What kind of build best in Stronghold?
Hint: It’s not Ranger nor Necro.
What is it Morwath?
From my experience, mobility and 1v1 potential are what matters. With everything that happens, you need to be able to kitten and git while being able to win 1v1s along the way. So cele ele and Mesmer seems to shine. Thief is great too, but 1v1s can be right if it’s an equally skilled opponent. Since it’s not conquest, you can just /lol and keep moving to your objective.
At least this is how it feels after solo queue.
How about a bunker that can heal your Lord? Is he healable?

Something that:
→ Does good 1v1, but doesn’t suck in group fights;
→ Does good in group fights, but doesn’t completly suck in 1v1;
→ Is good in supporting others and doesn’t die in seconds when focused;
→ Has mobility and good damage, so can swap between lanes/objectives.
So yeah, depends what you want to do.

Yes he is.
Same stuff in conquest works here, just played differently.
Support builds (your team bunkers in conquest) keep doorbreakers alive, DPS lock down and kill enemy players to prevent them from killing doorbreakers. You don’t really defend in stronghold, just delay.
Hint: It’s not Ranger nor Necro.
Nice try, but both of those classes can do quite well in stronghold.
Yeah, Ranger is great on defense. Lot of AoE binds and pet to help you slaughter Small rats while dealing with big rats.

I had a good match playing a bunker bomb/turret engineer protecting the lord.
Also good against doorbreakers, archers and champions, they walk in a line and you can run ahead of them and lay bombs in front of them.
Ele probably. Does everything. Mobile. Positioning doesnt matter and can heal the NPCs. Mesmer and thief too.
Necromancer/Casual Warrior
[Team] Best WvW guild of all time. EASILY.
Signet Mesmer: Great mobility, distortion defense for NPC, AoE blinds for more defense.
It didn’t work with conquest, because you cannot cap with distortion, but that should not matter in stronghold.
I’ve had a great run this beta with D/P thief. I use Crit Strikes/Deadly Arts/Trickery. No Shadow Arts. I prioritize fast damage with mobility.
I find D/P works great for getting the quick initial kill on the guards, and then moving back to defend your lane if no one else on the team is doing it.
This has worked very well for me soloQ this time.
Ele is also great.

I’d say that generally any good conquest build is solid, but you’ll want some stability and CC in just about anything you run with.
I’m not really sold on a healing-centric build, but I wouldn’t discount a good bunker guard either.
