What leaderboards has shown me...
and hopefully anet and the broader community….is that there IS a community for PvP and that there IS a demand so to speak….i dont think you can say " yea and all 10 people that PvP still " …. while many may still only do it for laurels or whatever i do believe this shows that PvP can be quite profitable and has the potential with proper care from anet to flourish….cmon anet i believe in you please focus on pvp and then some!
What I don’t understand is why ArenaNet isn’t monetizing sPvP players through its gem store.
They have done very little to appeal to sPvPers in that venue. Why not offer unique PvP-only skins?
At least I’ve read that Custom Arenas will be a voucher purchasable from the Gem Store, but honestly. Why don’t they care even the slightest about monetizing sPvP? It would make you realize that sPvP is worth investment and profitable. (You could hire more sPvP developers!)

not even pvp-only. Skins. Just skins.
This is all part in parcel of what im hoping will start to happen….anet will see there are plenty of people interested in pvp as in actual numbers. And subsequently will see the potential for revenue there….which will lead to many gem store pvp stuff…at least fingers crossed….

Anet didn’t need to make leaderboards to see how many people were pvping, it was us that had no accurate data.
I understand where you’re coming from dude, but I don’t think this type of change is the best way for them to profit from pvp. They need to actually make it good first, and by that, I mean much better balancing and additional game modes to simply bring more people in.

Yeah, look into the leaderboard, some of the players haven’t even played 10 games yet.
