Why does EU have a bigger PvP scene?

Do they have a larger population?

Is there less elitism in EU?

Are people friendlier?

Is there less drama?

I didn’t ask why one is better than the other to avoid emotional responses. I just want to know the facts

EU has a few teams at the top which are all of roughly equal skill. In order to win, they have to continually innovate and improve.

NA doesn’t have much competition for the top spot. That stagnation has blunted the enthusiasm. NA does have a pretty active scene with the Academy Gaming and AspectGG tournaments.

People have Guns in NA… And lots of them!

NA has always been more individualistic imo. They never really move past soloQ mentality, its “me me me” all the time, I’m a god, everyone else is trash and holding me back.

There are exceptions, but I don’t think NA has ever really been able to transition into team play nearly as consistently as EU. Other than that I don’t think there is a big difference, EU players aren’t strictly better, nicer, or anything like that, just better at playing on a team.

Very little difference. Na has 1 or 2 teams. Eu has 3 or 4. There is no competition because the player base is so small and the pvp infrastructure gives new players no way to prove themselves in pvp.

The top teams and players are self defined rather than the most talented who rose to the top. They are where they are because they want to be. Give up every sunday for a few years to sit around waiting to play a video game and play with a good comp with like minded people = play at a “high level”

In short, both na and eu are the same. They are both dying because of the games development removimg features like leaderboards and queuing outside the hotm

I was wondering as well. NA has a lot of good players but somehow they either don’t team up or just don’t practice as much.

I think difference is that EU teams keep practicing no matter how many times they get facerolled. At least that is from my experience (i have accnts on NA and EU).

Also, elitism on NA is unreal. Teams on NA expect you to be WTS winner or not join at all. EU teams tend to actually check your skill more and give you some chance. But once again, it is just my experience, can’t generalize from it.

It’s convenient to reference the last ESL tourney as an example of where I’m coming from. But this isn’t a new phenomenon, it’s been this way for almost 3 years.

EU has always been a mystery to me after exclusively being in NA. In fact, I bought this noob account when the game went on sale for $10 and chose to be in EU strictly for PvP purposes.

Sadly, I had to be level 18 or 20 or something like that in PvE before I can go to HoTM. I achieved reaching lvl 9 but couldn’t take the PvE grind anymore.

the portals in LA should take you into HotM regardless of lvl. I’ve also always been tempted to get a second account for EU pvp, as it seems like it would be better considering how much more positive and competitive their tournament scene is.

Oh dang choovanski. You’re right it worked. I swear they imposed a level minimum when I bought it during the sale. Lol haven’t logged in-game since the day I got it. Party up once you’re in EU.

Despite looking like a poor beggar, I won my first solo ranked game with marauder engie. At this hour, it seems better to play here than NA because there are more people.

eyyyy. good luck with EU. i have quite a few people i queue with on NA (yes im one of those people who never solos) and we all TS if you ever want to whisper me in game (i got a highly swaggy cele engi build too, but it’s not going on the forums). ill get an EU account if they ever do a crazy sale again, or if i can find a cheap CDKey.

Yup, that’s why you’ll find more people playing specialized roles in EU, like bunker guard instead of everyone trying to run a hybrid that does a little of everything.

I live in NA, but when it comes to interesting PvP: EU > NA.

Nawww, NA is better.

We don’t have a lot of top teams coz we’re busy with our hot girlfriends and/or mistresses.

Now that I made you laugh, it’s more of a matter of choice really…
NA you will have flares of competitive moments. You will trash talk each other and have a beer after a game. EU wise, the match continues even a month after it’s been over in game.
