All they do is spam their kittening autoattack all day long, maybe use their haste to SPAM AUTOATTACK WAY HARDER. There is not a single class that can cleanse bleeding fast enough to counter them. Oh and also they have 1500 range.

How the kitten are you supposed to counter that? Oh and of course their pet attacks you too all the while. At least the other OP classes need to do something besides running around not even using buttons because AUTOATTACK.

I’m pretty sure ranger’s shortbow had an undocumented nerf in the last update..

You do realize that rangers are by and far one of the weakest (not worst) but weakest pvp classes?? That stupid pet you refer to (and every ranger in the game) doesn’t deal damage if you move. gasp that should be an exploit, how dare you move when the pet is attacking.

And QZ+ crossfire is teh only burst a ranger gets.

btw, sb rangers do not have 1500 range. Only traited longbows do.

Look at the shortbow skill set. The only attack on there that does decent damage is the auto attack. The rest are just support skills.

3 is nice for a quick speed buff,
4 cripples n bleeds
5 dazes/stuns

I almost never hit 2, and only hit 4 on fleeing enemies. But 3 and 5 are fantastic, 5 especially since you flank→5→pop quickness and back to auto attack for great damage.

This is as full of fail as the OP.

SB 2* is amazing. If you don’t use it right, its just a spread shot that applies poison. WHOOP-DEE-DOO

If you use it when they are at 50% health and about to pop their heal…You’ve just kittened their heal. Especially useful on guardians.

3* does not give quickness. It fires a shot that deals damage and you evade backwards. Useful for PW thieves or HB warriors, or just in general to make a nusiance of yourself.

4* is great to cripple them so they can’t run away or stall them from closing.

5* you muct behind them for the stun, you get daze for free. Daze is far more useful. Stun breakers galore, I’d rather postpone your actions.

1* Apply bleeds only on flanking attacks. Far too many people knwo not to turn their back on a ranger, not unless they know they can live and get away. The weakest point is that the bleed stacks can all get stripped.

The “shortbow nerf” referred to is the speed nerf, I assume? That was actually a buff. Due to the incredible speed of the shortbow pre-patch, many shots weren’t even registering. They fixed that by slowing it down, and now all of your shots hit, and QZ is even better with it.

Yeah, the shortbow AA is funny. Eles with Water traits can definitely deal with the bleeds just fine, though. Personally, I have more problems with the Power SB than the condition SB, though the bleeds hurt either way.

Man, if Ele AAs were half as good as that skill we’d have a great condition build haha.

So, the responses here are, “Crossfire is all we have, so it’s OK!”

No, it’s not OK. Anet needs to bring things up so that Rangers have actual options. Being complacent in Crossfire spamming is the problem.

He meant that the shortbow gives swiftness on skill 3, if it hits something: it pushes you back and gives you swiftness. No where in the post did he say quickness; he said “quick speed buff”.

Shortbow just got nerfed and does 20%+ less damage then it did before…
It now does mediocre damage at best, I don’t know why you are complaining.
Sure a hasted shortbow will hurt, but it does not even close to the same damage as an axe/greatsword/dagger/entereverweaponinthegamehereexceptlongbow

Sb is still a great boost for rangers. the utility alone is worth its weight in gold.
The increase in attack speed, as someone posted actually helped us, since now all our attacks land reliably.

Rangers do have options. And the good ones use them. Oftentimes, the reason Ranger continually uses sb 1* is because he’s maintaining range and ifyou blow the CD’s on all the rest of your skills, your left with weapon 1* to spam overt and over.

Its like this with all classes.

Rangers are incredibly weak right now in pvp. They rely on auto attack because every other skill tied to the shortbow is about control, movent, or debuffs. number 1, crossfire is the only direct reliable damage skill.

That and
the longbow is kittening awful.

Anyone telling you otherwise is terrible, and thinks too highly of themselves.
