What to do against a group of 5 guardians?
Depending on the map, swap to going after the npc’s/lords/ect, then when they are out of position to defend their lord/take the npc’s, take the nodes.
I would guess the best thing to do would be to use superior mobility to get to the nodes before they do, I don’t imagine a team of 5 guardians is going to be great at taking a contested node unless they all happen to also be more coordinated and skilled than your team.
They were really difficult to stomp, always somebody came with the bubble to res him.
that sounds like a nightmare
try coordinating more with your team someone is down stability → stomp
-rank 41 guardian-
-Desolation EU-
Thanks for the tips, the problem is that Anet removed the only trait that provided stability to the engi, so perhaps the fastest solution is to use more guardians on our team.
5 guardians? pay them off or fight until you lose. hahaha
You don’t. Even if you go after their Lord (assuming they have one), they can just ignore it, take the point loss, and continue sitting on the points indefinitely. They’ll easily make up the points over time. You could do it if you organized a specific kind of team build, but it’s not like you know you’re getting this sort of team as your opponent.
I’m hoping there’s a balance patch down the road that will correct some of these issues with the professions.
sami try Elixer S
Dont touch them, just get the points they are not defending.
The worst thing you could do would be to try and fight them, not because you would die, but because it would waste so much kitten time.
Try vsing 5 mesmers, that kitten cash

One point won’t win you a game.
If they all have OP spirit hammer, then they can hold indefinately and get you off any of your points with ease.
Whole group should zerg two points constantly…just move from one to another, and zerg them, if you’re fast enough it should work fine. It worked well for my group once against 4 guards and ranger .
5 Tanks of any kind is honestly the first true gimmick in GW2. It is a build that, if they make sure to rez each other when they die, is nearly impossible to defeat.
Stability would have been a huge boon in that situation (hah!). Next time coordinate a little better. Utilize your CC to prevent a res, or stability to get a stomp. Guardians are also pretty susceptible to condition damage, and you can swap stuff in the match when out of combat – items included.
Use 5 eles oh wait…..
Stunned Girls Can’t Say No <Hawt>
You bend over and stretch. Its the most no-brainer and forgiving class in-game, no offense.
5 monks erryday

Any sort of 5 defensive characters its simply hard to beat. Due to their nature of amount CC they can kick you out of point or hold point against 2 people.
Guardians have it even easier and with 5 x stability you never get CCed = never can be killed.
alt + f4, serious. wouldn’t even bother.
Hi everyone!
The approach to winning vs many guardians is the sPvP tactic is overloading. Defensive guardians have a very hard time resolving fights so fighting on top of a taken point is extremely hard for them, also aside from taking GS + retreat or staff Guardians have poor mobility as well making assaulting/reinforcing for them difficult.
If they are playing a bunker 2 point game. Take your back point, then overload the point with the fewest guardians, a group of 4 will take out 3-1 guardians with good consistency.
Bringing tools like boon stripping, CC for their books, and team stability will greatly assist as well.
Lay down your weapons and try to negotiate.
Good post pandara
Lay down your weapons and try to negotiate.
lol
Oh wow, Sounds like a bad dream, Would not want to face them BUT it is managable with a well coordinated team and strategy. But it wouldnt be easy, You could also try and kill them off, Might be able to pick out some of them, or even if a group faces a group, on team chat try to tell players to focus their attacks on one single opponent, then move on to the other one, when they are seperated, keep them that way.
Just pray they dunno what they are doing or massive disconnect for internet problems .
/resign should be also an option..
Thanks for the tips. And to clarify my point, I’m not calling for any nerf. I think the “capture the point” mechanics give them advantage over the rest. Perhaps if Anet adds different rules…
Focus one target at a time… if your team of 5 focus on one Guardian he will have no chance, even with the others trying to save him, once the first is dead go to a second target.

in gw1, when there was the VOD, a lot of guilds played tanky (4monks) in gvg just to go to 20min mark and win because of healing to guild lord.
anet reworked vod.
i am worried about this state of the game and about guardians so hard to kill and theirs weapons.
i really hope they will fix this lame thing soon
albotelho and once the second target is dead the first target is up and alive again.
Condition damage kills guardians. No matter what they spec or how they build, condition damage will hurt them more than any other class. Stack bleeds and watch them drop because they can’t cleanse them fast enough.
As far as stomping them goes, if your team didn’t have a single stability buff to stop the knock backs..you had more than one problem from the gate.
*If they are all on 1 point then split up and take the other 2.
*If they are split up then attack them with the full team.
*Target 1 at a time and have all allies hit him with ranged attacks.
There is a profession which enjoys taking Guardian apart. Use it to coordinate attacks.
