Hi fellow pvpers,

after the new patch hit, I collected tons of crafting materials, like all of you did. Since I never really played pve, Im unsure what to do with it. In rare cases I roam with my mesmer in wvw. My questions are:

Could I try to craft a legendary strictly by pvping (no matter how long it would take), or would I still have to do cruesome things like “explore the whole world”?

Is there anything else I could do, like crafting ascended stuff, esp. weapons, for wvw (Im running in complete exotics atm)?

Are there any guides you know of, specifically wich pvp reward lines to choose?

you would still have to do pve to some extend.
– legendary: like you said explore the world. still you get 2 gifts per char you did 100% with. and you need a crafting profession for other gifts for a legendary (so some pve time to spend in crafting)
– ascended: crafting needed

besides from exploring and crafting i think you can get everything through pvp

its impossible to make a legendary from pvp alone unfortunately,
you need world completion for every legendary, you also need things like bloodstone shards which cost 200 skill points which are alot quicker to get in pve than pvp.

so currently there isn’t much you can do with your rewards if you’re a pvper.
hopefully they’ll add some sort of sink for the (currently worthless to most of us) ascended materials.

*crafting ascended stuff, esp. weapons, for wvw → good idea, they are account bound, so you can only make em yourself.

oh, yeah. i did forget you need to buy some stuff from vendors outside of cities. so to get there you need to run there → pve content.

there are at least ways to get a legendary through pvp.

the absolute workaround to get a legendary through pvp only is by selling everthing you get and buy your legendary from TP

I think to even things out a bit, a requirement for crafting a legendary should be to reach r80 in PvP. That way, PvE’ers have to do some PvP’ing just like we have to slog out useless PvE stuff.

Yesterday I decided to get my tailoring to lv500 and was more or less successful with
around 15 gold sink.

So you technically can get ascended gear purely from PVP.. you actually get a lot of the mats you need (Gold) in pvp ..

There was also one set of armor skins from tailoring which I Didn’t have so that’s some sweet endgame dress-up goodness for me.

I feel like a lot of stuff is too new to know what to do :/
Like theres tons of information that isn’t really available to PvPers…
For example; dropping Dungeon rewards which you can’t sell and already have into the mystic toilet gets you Skins! or Gold by selling the exotics.

The Wiki is really incomplete and if People contributed more information to it I think we’d be saying “hey these new rewards are OP”..

If its account bound I delete it usually, if it can be sold I will sell it at auction house. You can achieve everything a lot faster in pve, so if your goal is crafting stuff the more useful way is there.
