Q:

So we know Stability will be divided in stacks, granted different amount of stacks for other skills.

We also know Trickery trait line for Thieves, offers them to Steal their Stability and Daze right after.

However, if we use the same skill (Steal) for might, we know it only rips off 1 stack of Might.

Question: Is Steal going to be nerfed this way (undirectly) by making Stability as stacks?
Steal traited can only steal 1 stack..
Basically, what I’m thinking is that this will effect Steal quite hard. Interupting “safestomps”, rezzing and healing won’t be possible anymore as I understand it.. Or will it?

Bountiful Theft takes one “stack” of boons it steals, so you’d only receive one stack of stability, assuming that behavior transfers.

So basically starting expansion we won’t be able to interupt stomps/rezzes/banners anymore if they’re using +2 stacks of stability?

IIRC, if you use bountiful theft on someone with 25 stacks of might, they lose all 25 stacks but you only get 1 stack (otherwise an s/d thief would be able maintain a huge number of might stacks when fighting a cele engi/ele). This would be the same with the new stability, meaning that yes you would daze your target even if it had 3+ stacks of stability.

Bountiful Theft takes one “stack” of boons it steals, so you’d only receive one stack of stability, assuming that behavior transfers. However, I don’t remember if it removes the boon (meaning if you steal someone with 15 might, you only get 1 might but they lose all 15) and all stacks or not, which would give you the answer you want.

aye. its one of the msot frustrating and bullkitten feeling things to get hit by on hte other side and probably responsable for more anti thief sentiments than the entire shadowstep mechanic :P

I can’t tell you how many times I pop RAO on a ranger or flash into DS on my necro for stab only to have it dissapear in a second (pretty annoying when ones an elite and hte others in my grandmaster slot)

I can promise you from experience that hte above is correct on how it works. As annoying as it is to us. hahaha

it makes perfect sense that skills like rampage as one, warrior rampage, lich, and other powerful stability sources should not be taken away so easily as a low CD auto-target teleport skill that does 5 other things as well.

thief isn’t supposed to be the go-to interrupt class, mesmer is. if this nerf plays out to be significant enough then maybe thief would need a buff in some other area but I really think traited steal has been the single most OP skill of all classes for a long time now.
