Where is the outrage on 4v5 match ups?
A lot of people have been asking for quitter penalties, thus far nadda.
Only thing on the horizon that might help is the development of a proper solo q.
Nah – the thing that will help is upcoming playerbase melt. Almost all my friends left GW2 PvP after last update, so I think soon 5v4 will disappear with whole deal. And that is sad :/
Strange to think a competitive match that only takes 15 mins tops has people that que and bail.
People do 2v2 in wow for longer then that.
Nothing strange in that. When You have premade team vs pug it’s hard to expect fair fight. You can try, get frustrated and waste those 15 minutes, or go make yourself some coffe. Usually I try to play – it’s hard but a bit of leadership can take nice pug over mediocre premade. But sometimes team is so bluntly bad, that for sake of my mental health I take coffe break.
It’s not the players fault actually – it’s system, it have been system from the day one and only Anet can fix it. Even simply reporting AFKers would be step in right direction, but I think it’s too much to ask.
I don’t disagree. The problem is definitely a system issue. This isn’t a new thing though, free 3 round tournaments had this issue from the start.
I don’t even know if thy will bother to fix it. I would like to see a good will system like in Smite in addition to deserter panelties.

That is unacceptable. The moment someone presses the “solo join” button they accept the fact that there is a chance he/she will face a premade team. It is simple, if you do not want to play against a premade do not play tournaments. Please do not use premades as an excuse to afk/leave. There are many serious solo queue-ers like me who still want to give it their all even when facing a premade a team. It is extremely unfair for us when a player leaves/afk just because we are faced with a premade.

last time the commented about it was a month or so ago and they just said it was a lower priority than custom servers… and since custom servers still are in “beta” we probably won’t see a fix for months.

I don’t think You understood me, or ever tried to join solo. I want to play some tournaments, but I can’t get people to help me. Most of my friends crossed GW2 PvP for good. And if I’m not wrong – rest of my friends did the same after last update (bravo for the daily).
When I get team made by r1-r5 people (like today), who doesn’t know the map, game rules, never heard about PvP builds and etc. what should I do? Step up from base and die (because yeah – we were farmed before our own base), or just go grab a coffe? It’s not like I wanned to have break or go AFK – I even asked my team, if they want to learn to play after this match. You know, I can link them some builds, train with them in hotjoin. Personally, I’m not great, but I’m not a masochist.
Don’t tell me I have to go and get my self killed over and over again, only because premade teams love their stats get boosted. And don’t tell me I can’t play tournaments because I don’t have premade team – it’s not me who throw premades and pugs into one crate, it was Anet. And above all – don’t tell me that I said that I “don’t want to play against premade teams”, because I didn’t. I just don’t want to face r40 premade well balanced team, with r1-r5 pug, because that is not a match. Four people pressing 1 like it would save their lives it’s a sorry excuse for team mates, especially when they are not willing to learn or improve. So yeah – in that situation I go and grab coffe, join to another (hope better) team and do my best.

I also hate the 5 vs. 8 in tournaments(enemy team 3 ranger your team 0 ranger which means they get 3 “free warriors” as pets). Lol.
Where is the outrage on teaming up solo que vs premades?

There’s a bad system out right now, where solo que’ers are facing really hard teams and when some people recognize the people on the other team and realize it’s a team, they bail out.
I don’t blame them, I wouldn’t want to get owned right outside my spawn area while the other team has all 3 points.

When you pvp long enough you regonize people’s name and the premades, people that leave rage instantly because they are facing a premade and sometimes its a premade that is why out of your league. Like that video right there. 40s and 50s vs 30s 10s and a 7.
I know that video is old, but I still see that kind of stuff today solo queing.

yup it’s sad and Jon and the other devs are clueless in fixing it. rift added a deserter debuff within the first month of release

Was having a great time until I lost a match I should have won due to the inept queuing system.
I think if it’s 4 vs. 5 from the beginning it is okay for you to leave or go afk if you are in the team with only 4 people. No use wasting the time trying. Only if it’s near the end of the match and if you still could win you should play.
Also if the other team is much better there is no use in letting them farm you. 50 vs. 350 after a few minutes and you can just stop trying because the others have won already and even in 5 vs. 5 you can just be afk.
But if it is the beginning and only a bad start and like 30 vs. 120 points then you still should play(some people mentioned that already people leave at this but I think this is too early).
This is my number one prob atm
They need to implement a minimum rank to enter tpvp.. That way, the pve diehards won’t be able to join until they learn the game mechanics, maps, classes etc.. Usually the person who leaves will be a low rank.. Or a high rank stuck with low rank noobs who admit they’ve never played the map before
Learn how to play in hotjoin kitten then come to tourneys, not the other way round
I know some low rank players are more skillful than higher but by throwing a blanket r10 requirement to enter, I think we’ll see an improvement
