Which Classes are you Happiest to Team with?
I’m happiest as a theif, although Ele is close with theif. Other than that, I don’t touch too many other classes, although I’ve tried them all at one point or another except for guardian.
I guess as a general statement, I’d say I’m happiest to be the underdog. I don’t like being overpowered. Back in the day I hated thieves because they were so op. Now I love them. Yeah, I know. It’s a cruel and unusual punishment/curse. :P
All except:
Ele
Ranger

Oh, my bad! Thanks for the clarification.
I mostly like to play with:
1. Engi
2. Warrior
3. Gaurdian
4. Mesmer
I like to have bunkers on my team, since I usually am a thief and go out and cap far, and just generally roam about and help team people/capture points. I guess what I mean is, I’m generally an “assistant” and the people who are best to assist are bunkers. The reason I chose mesmer is because I like to have good damage on my team as well, and a good mesmer can deal a lot of damage.
i like classes who can tank a lot of damage while dealing an insane amount at the same time, some CC is nice also.
as the balance philosophy of guildwars says that there is no class in purpose of doing all these, i would choose as follows:
1.) warriors for their tankiness
2.) warriors for their dmg
3.) warriors for their CC

LOL
1. Guardians
2. Rangers
3. Thieves
4. Necro’s
5. Warriors
6. Engineers
7. Mesmers
8. Ele’s
1. Guardian
2. Necro
3. Ranger
1. guardians
2. warriors
3. necros
4. engis
5. doesn’t matter
[Teef] guild :>
1 guard (pref. someone i know), 1 thief (if im not playing thief), 1 ranger, rest not that important, pref 2 warriors or 1 necro and a warrior
Short: anything but ele or 2x thieves
Long:
0) Guardian – fair or not, its a MUST
1) Decap engie – auto-win , basicaly cheating
2) Warior
3) Warior
4) Spirit Ranger / Condi engie
5) Condi necro – few are good engough to deal with slow movement and warior
6) Mesmer
7) Thief
….
10) Ele
I play power necro main, sometimes thief and warior as 3rd to try save a terrible setup. I prefer the boonstrip/CC of a mesmer over a thief, bacause it covers me on necro.
Warriors, though that should mean I’m happy every game since there’s minimum of 4 warriors per game, but I’m not. It makes me sad.
1. Burst elementalist. I don’t always pay ele, but when I do, I prefer a burst ele (either staff or scpt/d or scpt/f) to compliment me (d/d support). It’s really a beautiful thing how well these two compliment each other. I’ve won more than I’ve lost when this combo occurs. I think the problem is that there are more burst ele’s than support, as most people prefer to “wrek kitten” than support the team.
2. Guardian
3. Thief
4. Warrior and engineer are tied.
Team GASM
Hambow, shout guardians, spirit rangers, MM necro, and bunker/decap engi.
gg
In descending order of power/effectiveness:
1) Ham-Bow Warrior
2) Bunker Guardian (if I’m not playing a guardian)
3) (high skill & high burst) Thief
4) Decap Engi
5) Necro
6) Spirit Ranger
I usually cringe if our team has more than 1 of the following because we’ll usually lose:
1) Elementalist
2) Mesmer
3) (low skill) Thief
4) (sub optimal builds of the classes mentioned in the first list)
The caveat is that you need a mix of bunker and damage on your team. Too much of either and you fail.
So an ideal mix might be:
1) Hambow Warrior
2) Bunker Guardian
3) (high skill high burst) Thief
4) Necro
5) Any other well played and well built (non bunker) class
1) Guardians
2) Warriors
3) Engineers
4) Necros
5) Mesmers
6) Spirit Rangers
Obviously varies from build to build, but that’s the general gist of it assuming they are playing their “competitive” builds.
Usually 3 warriors in my team and i’m pretty happy.
I love when my team has a war/guard/engi/mesmer and the ideal 5th just depends on what map.
i like to run with:
1:Thiefs
2: D/D ELES
3: Guardians
and occasionly mm necros (i play that sooooo)

sadly true…

5)Erangentalist
6)Necro, but only bc i play one..

All except ele ranger thief and mesmer
(edited by Rezz.8019)
The only time I feel disappointed, is with mesmers and thieves. These 2 classes really contribute the least to conquest mode of play. They cannot hold a node and spend most of their time fighting off point, and even if they try to defend a node, in a 1v1 it will always result in a decap, if anything, just due to their mechanics.
For a mesmer or thief to contribute to conquest in a meaningful way, they really have to excel at their class. Which is unfortunate.

Pretty much this. If the thief is decent then I’m more then happy to have them. However most of the time they are just rallybots. Mesmer is even worst imo. Most run some PU build that is good for nothing.
Heavens Rage
I like to see eles on my team because they are cool people. kitten haters.
really bad engineer
I like having any class on my team tbh, just as long as there is a good spread of abilities – from roaming to holding. Generally I like 2 reasonably tanky things though just cause I play Mesmer and its easier to just run between the points they are defending as needed.

Seems legit
later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”
Zookeepers to pet the perty kitty =D
hambows and MMs
the moment you see 2-3 of the above on your team you can pretty much afk.
though like everyone else said, the only ones i don’t like seeing on my team are thief and ele.
though a smart glass ele can change the tide of battle, and thieves have a really high skill ceiling .
1) Warrior
2) Bunker Guardian
3) Engi
4) Necro
5) Thief
6) Ranger (for some odd reason, Spirit Rangers are not “that” common)
7) Mesmer
8) Ele
Of course, anything of the above crumbles if the other team has a Decap Engi. I’ve lost every game that involved a Decap Engi on the enemy team yesterday (6), while I won every other game (15).
Only the players matter to me. Names.

+1
Any ele mesmer or necro in the top50, becuse they know how to play their class to get there and I also don’t play any of those.
110k WvW kills | Champion Legionnaire, Paragon |
I play a warrior and have always found it pleasant to have another one in the team. In fact I have most fun if all 5 are warriors!
Second fave is the guardian. Ele, Necro and non PU mes are third. The rest I dont care for
It’s not really about classes but about the global team compositions. People might say 5 hambows is OP, but in fact it’s easy to counter( although you can still lose very easily..). Clearly, a composition such as 2 hambows 1 spirit ranger 1 grenade spammer and 1 thief is much harder..
On the other hand, many will agree that compositions with mesmers thieves and eles are terrible and cannot do anything vs builds mentionned above.
So my answer would be anything other than mesmer ele and thief
One of the best comp is 2 warriors, guardian, necro and thief
warriors and spirit rangers. Same as for about 10 months haha
Necromancer/Casual Warrior
[Team] Best WvW guild of all time. EASILY.
Bunker Guard
Ham/Bow Warrior
Spirit Ranger
No Thiefs
No Mesmers
No Thiefs
:(
1. Caed
2. Guardians
3. Caed
4. Warriors
5. Necros
6. Engineers
But yeah seriously, player matters more than class. I’d rather have a super pro ele than a bad warrior…
I think you know what you are talking about…
