Q:
Like all of you, I am getting older.
But I have been getting older a lot longer than you probably have, since I started playing PvP MMOs with Ultima Online in 1997, 16 years ago. And I was an older gamer even back then!
So I just don’t have the twitch/reaction I once had.
What GW2 class seems to be more about experience and knowledge and less about twitch reaction?
YES, they ALL require some fast reaction. But there must be some that require more think and less lightning response.
All friendly, helpful replies from experienced players who know the classes will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Necro has the longest cast times in the game, so there’s no “twitch” play possible. High base HP pool and death shroud let you soak up a lot of damage while you think in combat.
Mesmer is another good candidate if you’re not trying to pull off the shatter + blurred frenzy combo. The less you run around/dodge, the more effective your clones are at hiding you. Again, plenty of time to think about the situation and easy escape if you take the decoy skill.
There isn’t a whole lot of "twitchiness’ to this game, really. I suppose if you want to really minimize it you could go with a Ranger that has tons of evade built in and high passive regen+condi cleanse, but all in all it seems to me that strategy>twitch regardless of profession in this game.
I like to play staff ele from time to time.
It’s not the best build compared to D/D or S/D but still a lot of fun. Especially in those “hot join zergs” it’s pretty effective since nobody moves out of your AoE. Just stay away from melee professions and you should be fine. For 1v1 it sucks though.
Just give it a try, maybe you will like it.
P.S. D/D and S/D is really fast which means you probably don’t like it.
Definitely ranger then necro although some specs for other classes have very little twitchyness as well.
Guardian is definitely the class for you.
With their abundance of blocks and boon output, guardians do not require twitch reflexes to be influential in a fight (although reflexes will separate the good guardians from the great guardians).
If built hybrid, the guardian has a tremendous amount of damage output in the form of burns and retaliation. Because these are passive forms of damage, it means your direct attacks (aka twitch-based skills) are not your source of damage; it is your strategy-based gameplay that outputs all of the damage.
tl;dr Guardians are a brick wall that enemies bash their heads into and kill themselves, meaning less twitch reflexes required and more strategic options available.
