I don’t think I could go back to other MMORPGS now. I am still very happy with the game. For the first time I felt like build crafting was something important in a game, and you weren’t just one clone.

The combat system has novelty that works.

But this game is full of faults, too. Pvp meta is a mess, and we still have problems with the animation based gameplay.

Is it something we care about? HELL YES! Otherwise we wouldn’t be here complaining on the forums, right?

You will know no one cares about a MMO anymore the day you won’t see people criticizing on the forums.

And no i’am not happy with SPVP, but i love the anet team and i know they work hard to improve this.

I come from a place like Diablo 3, after that i can really appreciate what anet team does.

There is much work to do, but unfortunately Anet’s focus is on pve content. Understandable since that is what brings in the money.

Needs deathmatch and more gear stat choices would fix alot of issues, mainly the lack of FUN issue that is conquest.

Sure the meta is crap right now and there isn’t a reward system, but it isn’t as bad as all the kittening has made it up to be.

The combat is good, but Conquest is not what I want, and I don’t think it reflects the strengths of the genre. I also feel that PvP gets minimal support, so it’ tough to invest into that side of the game. People will go where the money is being spent and that doesn’t appear to be sPvP.

No,I find PvP incredibly dull and unrewarding, and whenever I play I just see 10 of whatever is FOTM on each team. Literally nothing but spirit rangers, stunlock warriors and the occasional cond necro in the 9 games I bothered to play today.

For me, core of the game simply has too many issues. Build and statistics often dominate creativity and skill. There’s very little headroom to improve as a player and if you do the game simply doesn’t facilitate personal progression outside of a grind meter.

No, the graphics and feel of combat are nice, but everything else is lacking. It’s sad that it has been a year now, and we are stuck with a lot of the same issues since BW1 – AI easymode, AE, clutter, more AE, faceroll evade, condition, tank specs, etc. Still I was optimistikittenil I read the Pax interview, but it didn’t surprise me what was said either. I’ve barely played this year anyway having gone from just rank 42-45 since the start of the New Year. I’ll remain hopeful that something great will come along. Expect the worst, and hope for the best. Good luck.

The pvp devs don’t give a kitten about trying to improve the game. They know they have a guaranteed paycheck from the pve side of things, so they don’t even have to try. They do just enough to make it look like they’re working, and that’s it. That’s why this next patch is going to be a total disappointment. It isn’t going to have the changes that are needed. It’ll be another nothing patch. Just enough for them to say hey.. we’re doing stuff.. keep sending us that paycheck!.

Spirit rangers need to be nerfed and we need actual balance patches. They need to never hold off balance updates because of a tourney ever again. That was the worst call ever.

I absolutely prefer a reactive gameplay over a complex button rotation based one, and I also prefer conquest mode over the classic deathmatch.

Unfortunately, the reactive gameplay, while intended by DEVs, can’t take place at all in a game with so many spam of both powerful attacks and evades. Petting zoos and asura animations make it even worse.
The AoE spam is also over the top. I’m not against bunkerish specs (I play one myself) but they sould be more a viable choice insted of something forced by the meta.

People need to stop being over the top and just wait. Anet has always delivered in the end, and previously stated that no game changing changes would happen during their tournament. Now that it is over we can expect a balance patch next week on the 2 week update cycle.

Does pvp generate money?: No (well I’ve personally put over $1000 into this game and I pretty much only play pvp so … possibly).

Do you think the Devs should consider continuing pvp development when they get such negative feed back every 2 seconds? No, I’m suppressed they haven’t made WvW the only available pvp after everyone’s constant whining. The fact that they have kept with it is more then enough for me to answer yes to this thread every time its asked.

Coming from WoW pvp this game’s pvp seems like a bad joke(I don’t even want to get started about PvE or WvW, mindless grind and mindless zerg respectively with absolutely no vestige of skill requirement) I had higher hopes for a game with such high potential but devs have neglected PvP for way too long.

2) They don’t want to solve core problems for conquest (Insane AoE, IA pets)

I am overly satisfied with PvE tho, and I don’t even do fractals or dungeons so they aren’t doing everything wrong!
