I do believe the point of this thread was to say weather or not you are happy with spvp in it’s current state, so my answer is no. I may not be some high ranking in with the cool crowd pvp player, but I am a big FAN of pvp. I love watching the strategy videos, twitch streams, and the (constructive) forum posts. I do play the game of course, but I mainly play for fun and with friends. But thanks to Arenanet and their giant disconnect with the pvp community, those friends that still play guild wars 2 no longer exist. I used to wake up in the morning, log into a group of friends who were willing to spend the day either having fun in tourneys or screwing around in hotjoins but now, I log in by myself wondering why I still play this game. If it weren’t for the combat, I would not be playing this game. Kind of like when you go out with a girl because she’s pretty, but don’t take her seriously because her inner-attributes are mind-numbingly stupid .
1. The pvp devs (from what I understand) don’t have the same amount of funding/staff that the rest of the branches have, resulting in slow work
2. While I agree that “WE WANT ANSWERS!” threads will never get answers, I know that threads like this only exist because Arenanet fail to show the players what their direction is for Pvp. With Pve there’s always that hype, you KNOW that something new and exciting is coming for you every two weeks(skins,lore,items,overall content). Where with pvp you never know what you are going to get.
3. There’s been so much rage on the forums lately (rightfully so), and not one word from the devs. Why? I mean they haven’t even pulled at our chains saying things like “It’ll get better” or “It’s a long process”. Maybe because they discovered that we want RESULTS and we also want PROMISES to be kept and they won’t be able to deliver.
4. No reward. Enough said, you know what I’m talking about.
5 Our pvp system is lacking simple things that even low production games have. Ready checking BEFORE the tourney pop, PVP only skins (come on I got a character to 80 I know this is copy and pasted), in-game leaderboards, currency that you are excited to aquire, and the most important thing of all: ATTENTION
There’s a process for everything though, so you can’t expect the devs (Human beings) to give everything 100% when and where you want it at all times, they have lives too. However, don’t take my understanding as sympathy. We are the PVP community. Without us, making content means nothing, starting hype means nothing, and there will be no point for you to continue this project. Not only was this game advertised as “The Pvp Mmo”, they also stated that the higher ups gave a kitten. So if you want to continue to snuff us out of our dreams of playing respectable and fun PVP/TPVP ( that feels rewarding and cared for), you might as well shut down pvp right now.
