There’s a user on Engineer forums who is claiming that they were the world’s first rank 80. This seems to be something they just started recently, but it got me curious… are they? If not, does anyone remember the name of the first person to reach 80?

no one was rank 80 in spvp till the April 15th patch which then quite a few people became lvl 80 at once.

I rather like the idea of a fellow Engineer being the first 80. That and Vee Wee amuses me to no end. Whether he was the first 80 or not, he has flare, so in my own little world, I’m just gonna believe it. That and his posts usually make sense. :p

He is somewhat amusing, though his posts are usually combative, especially towards any builds that aren’t his own. He uses a lot of blanket statements, like claiming all Engineers who play a certain build (turrets, for example) are just bad players/leeches on their teams, so I guess it bugged me enough to wonder if he was really the first rank 80 or if he was just a troll. lol

The “#1 Engi NA” also got me a little lol

Vee Wee is great. I love reading the posts whenever I see them. I even read some other people’s posts as if he/she wrote them.

As for the claim – why not? Someone has to and I know it wasn’t me.

I’m pretty sure this is the case.

Someone could maybe claim to have been the closest to 80 before the April 15th patch, but as far as I know, nobody was 80 before that patch, and many became 80 at the same time after that patch.

Since everyone with r54 became 80 its not possible to say who was the first. The closest we can get to declaring a first is by examining who had the highest PvP rank before April 15, because they were the closest to 80. I know a handful of names who were in the high r70 range, some of them were Super Mang Jose, Voa, Ostrich Eggs, Five Gauge, Kirito, and Marvin.

Vee Wee is entertaining but not everything he says is true.

i find his/her posts more than annoying and would this forum has a block option he/she would be the first one i would block

From reading some of those posts, I would say they are trolling.

The tone of all of their posts suggest that they are a Legend in Their Own Mind (but not reality).

PS Turret Engis are pretty awful! Not the players but the build! Also sometimes the players too! And that makes for this really useless weight to carry on a team! Like a dumbbell that doesn’t turn your biceps into beefceps!

Kira Boris was the first to hit 70, who was from “Being OP is Hard” [OP] from NA, Though all he did was hotjoin, he was the first to get to 60, and eventually 70 without skyhammer. C L I K from Eu, was probably the 2nd to hit 70. I don’t know who else hit 70 in EU, but in NA the ones who had a lot of tourney games in, and didn’t skyhammer farm it were Karmy, Oeggs, Jtan (Super Mang Jose), Five Guage, Kensuda, Kirito, AK, Ghaleon (Danny), Myself, and a few others. I was 71 before April 15th, and when that patch hit anyone 54+ became up ranked to 80.

The highest before the patch hit was 74 IIRC.

Awesome. Could you link the site you found that info on? I was wondering if there was actually something out there saying that; glad to hear someone found it, but please do share!

There was no rank 80, it wasn’t possible until April 15th. The highest people got was like 74 if I recall correctly.
