I main warrior and don’t know how to play anything else and I got to ruby season 1 SOLO when It was trash, season 2 SOLO when it was trash, and Diamond now season 3 SOLO when it is good but not even the best and I got my Legendary done. And I am not even that good.

So I have really no sympathy for the people complaing, I bet you would never have been able to get to ruby in S1 on a warrior if you can’t get to ruby on your OP class.

I guess the only solution to this would be to prevent those players who can’t get there from playing ranked. That way they won’t get into anyones way and they won’t be wasting their own time.

Sailing through the seasons doesn’t give you any moral or logical high ground.

The matches are set deliberately uneven. So, neither winning nor losing reflect skill in my opinion.

I hear it a lot, bad players don’t deserve the wings, they have no right to the rewards.
So by that logic why should they even participate, why offer themselves up as fodder so the higher ups can stomp them.
I’ll tell you why the so called bad players also deserve the wings and rewards, because even though they lose more than they win, most of them are fighting as hard as they can every single game and keep persevering even though it’s a lost cause.
So if you’re on a win streak, find the game a bit easy and have had no real challenge, you aren’t fighting nearly as hard as the bad players that don’t deserve a prize.

They’ve already done that, hence yalls long queue times in sPvP. After many many weeks of not player sPvP. I decided to play a match or two just to give it a go. Hopped on my Custom “Non Meta Druid” no less Monday while ESO servers was down for maintenance. I’ve had the enemy team 3 v 1 me 3 times in that and killed them all ‘ALL" 3 times but because my other team mates was either the worst players in the current gaming world or just flat out bots, we still lost! Needless to say I will not be having a match in GW2’s sPvP till next ESO server maintenance on Monday coming.

So yeah what you’ve described is already in the workings for the whole of this season.

Dont you have to win with 3 classes to get the legendary?

But i do give you sympathy for warrior before it get buffed.

You might have misread the achievements. Check the meta for each tier, it will tell you which of the achievements are needed (professional achieves themselves are not needed for meta – not directly anyway), what is needed is an achieve you get for completing 2 or 3 of those.

The point is the decks was stacked against my warrior early on and I did what I had to do. Best advice I received was that I gotta carry my team, I had to carry all of the terrible players with a warrior in S1 and 2. Cuz the terrible players are not going to carry you. So You know what I did I carryed them they best I could by playing smart and bursting people down and spiking them.

If you are not killing other players on your own or taking out players where the makority of the DPS is you, you are not carrying. If you are getting 1 pushed and dieing all the time you are not helping. And if you are not reading the map and strategically capping and holding objectives you are not carrying. If you are doing all of this and still losing then come complain. But I am willing to bet you are not.

If you go to the store and buy all the ingredients to bake a cake, then come home and throw all those ingredients into a baking tin, mix it up but don’t follow the cooking instructions properly, then bang it in the oven and wait whatever amount of time only to produce an inedible pile of mush, you can’t expect to have a cake and eat it too.

If you want a thing, you have to meet the requirements to obtain a thing. This isnt new. This isnt a hard concept. This is something every human being has to face on a day to day basis.

This is also the case regardless of how much effort one person has to put in over another. So long as the specific requirements are met, then and only then do you deserve to obtain the thing.

So if I want to get to legendary and get some shiny wings, but I do it standing on my head while solo’q’ing, while someone else runs a premade in the correct and upright position, I’m no more deserving than the other guy just because it was ‘harder’.

Meet the requirements – get the thing.
Don’t meet the requirements – don’t get the thing.

I’m talking about the elitist attitude I see in forum and in-game everyday. Low level players shouldn’t even be allowed to compete, they have no right to try to get anything because they’re rubbish and a waste of space.

Paying doesn’t mean you are entitled to anything for one you don’t even own the game you own a conditional oppurtunity to play the game, and you are entitled to the oppurtunity to follow the path of Ascension and make the wings but you aren’t entitled to the end product because you paid….

AVAILABLE = Everyone has the opportunity to get it, but not everyone WILL get it.

Think of it this way, If a girl/boy is single (available) does that guarantee the fact that he/she will be interested to be in a relationship with you?

If you know for yourself you are not very good at pvp, what makes you think you deserve to get the reward?

If you are bad, then do other options to help you win like teaming up, typing, communicating, etc.

If you do not want to do any of those, and you still think you are entitled to the wings, I just do not know what to say anymore.

Exactly what they did and didn’t promote, and how that’s been interpreted is up for debate. Even if we take the claim at face value, and assume they made such a bald faced statement, why would someone reasonably conclude it doesn’t come with conditions? Promotional slogans never come with legal stipulations. That’s normal within our culture. If you want the finer details you have to read the finer print. And even where it hasn’t been printed, a certain degree of rationale has been left for human beings to fill in the gaps. Such as, if you want the prize, you have to compete and overcome the challenges set before you within our PvP structure. Even if you don’t like that structure, or don’t have the ability to overcome it, it’s still the requirement one has to overcome for the prize.

Is it unfair? You could argue that. But laws are laws, and the requirements to achieve the wings are set out clear as day. Bummer if you’re dealt a poor hand. Life just isnt fair, unfortunately XD

It is available to all if you play well enough to carry. That is the point I tried to make. If you don’t carry your team as a solo player you will not get it. Some teams you cannot carry. But every team is different you get on a team where at least 1 others are trying to carry as well you win. You will never get fair matches you have to play better. If you can’t do this than your not good enough to make it.

You have to win that 1v1, you have to bunk that point long enough for your team to help you, and you can’t waste time in matches doing pointless things and make mistakes. You have to read the map and cap that point that no one is on and hold it and communicate with your team to hold 2 points so they know.

Most of the terrible players or 90% of the players will just cap something then leave. I never do this unless I have to leave. If you own home and you cap far. You don’t leave far. You sit there and hold your home and hold that far until you can cap mid. Or you ignore mid etc.
90% of the terrible players literally are playing with thier eyes closed sit there and waste time fighting over mid when u own far and home and then get home back capped. if you are not vocal in communicating whats happening they will never figure it out.

Because GW2 is the only “wanna be competitive” PvP game that I’ve played cept LoL with such a Anti-Solo queuer system that stacks teams. I just don’t see this problem else where but if being a solo queuer is being a scrub in you mind, then I don’t even need to say more because you’ve just said in a nutshell what me and other actual competitive gamers have been saying about GW2’s sPvP dev team and the rest of the “special needs competitive sPvPers” left in GW2.

Everyone that has HoT has access to the raids. Everyone that plays them does not complete them. There is a certain gear and skill ceiling. Same for the wings. There is a certain competence level required. Having reached ruby in 3 straight seasons, the ceiling is pretty low. I only solo queue, and no I don’t have a good MMR.

I’m sorry you feel this way Ithilwen but winning/losing DOES reflect skill. It reflects the skill that your team has in working together despite never playing together.

If winning required skill how do we have all of these really bad players in diamond and legend that everyone keeps talking about?
I’ve seen people in Diamond do stuff that I expect emeralds to get right, skilled isn’t what I’d call them.

Each match involves 10 people. SO it is rather easy for unintended consequences. I.e. players raising or falling with their teams.

I got close to diamond this season. 2 pip away after steady climbing for a month playing 3-4 games a day and never losing more than 2 in a row. Having an off game pretty much always meant a loss. Gave me hope for matchmaking after last season.
Well, now I just loss 9 of the last 10. 1 diamond and 4 rubies on my team, and 5 diamonds on the other team, every game. Unless you’re the type of person who’s dominating legendary, skill doesn’t count for much. Its mostly luck in getting the right teammates.

Only thing worse than the wasted time trying to get to diamond this season (if my luck keeps up), is the time I’ll spend playing pvp next season to get to ruby to complete my collection.

From Anet’s quote above, it sounds to me like everything is working as intended.

• Dedicated players are grinding seasons/games to get the wings.

Not sure what people are having issues with but i’ll happily play on their account, hop on DH and reach Legendary. It’s not impossible to reach Legendary every season. The Division and rewards are well within reach…

While I don’t disagree with your sentiments, you miss the main issue.

That issue is this; ANET set out a prize which was to be available to “everyone.” The league and achievement structure has been set up in a way that contradicts that.

Sure, one needs to meet the requirements. However, ANET promoted a prize as available to all. Therefore, the company has an obligation to make the requirements such that all can get it.

From Anet’s quote above, it sounds to me like everything is working as intended.

• Dedicated players are grinding seasons/games to get the wings.
• Elitests are reaching Legendary the quickest, receiving the rewards faster. Now we need more items to spend tickets on!

No, no they aren’t. Imagine if 8 out of 10 games you were matched with people that either will not or can not play properly. They refuse to rotate, they lose every fight, they AFK after 5 min. This has been my experience for the last 2 weeks. I’m so jaded with PvP right now that I expect every single game to be a loss.

Matchmakimg obviously needs an improvement but the league system does not. The league system is working as intended.

Sorry for your misfortunes but I haven’t had matches like that. It’s more like 1 bad match every 3 games but matchmaking indeed has a sense of humor sometimes.

Even if you do all the PvP requirements like I did it still likely won’t be free because you need the Gift of Fortune. Yes, you can get a Gift of Fortune for free but it would require serious grinding to do so. It’s more practical to earn gold then buy the T6 mats, ectos are good for getting free from Silverwaste (make sure you save them for when you have the Silverwaste buffs active). If you do it once per day you should have the ectos in two or three weeks.

Yeah no. Just because you had a smooth sailing on your best classes does NOT means everyone else will have the same result!

I literally spend 4 hours playing my ele, my best classes on PVP since I thought getting 6 wins will get me to diamond. Boy was I wrong BIG time! I NEVER spend that long in pvp but I figure it willl worth it when I hit diamond!

I TRY my hardest to win but nope, Anet is having none of it, you would think having two eles in a team will guarantee a win? Nope. A team of 4 harvy armours and a mes, I underestimated them! The final straw was when I got paired up with 2 thiefs and the other team had more heavy armours but no ele or druids.

Guess I got to hand it to Anet for sucking away my joy or at least trying to have a good time in a competitve game. It’s to the points I had become competely loathe competitve games now that I have no interest at buying other competitive games like Overwatch, Battleborn or even Dead Star! Good for Anet I guess since they don’t want me playing any other multiplayers games!

Still you are right OP. I totally expect no sympathies from anyone in the game since it’s everyone selfish desire to win over being selfless to help out another players plight by losing intentionally or something like that!

Seriously all I want is just to finish my achievement in the rubies area and be done with it. Is it so hard for asked for that????

Sorry to break it to you GW2 is known by most of the competitive Gaming Community as one of the most non competitive game out that has ranked leagues and eSports leagues prize pool. Most Competitive gamers can just watch of few of the current pvp youtube videos, and know to stay away from GW2 like the plague. That if they are looking for another competitive game to put under their belt.

Does forced stacked matches by a match maker sounds anything close to being competitive. [Putting a group of lower MMRs against a group of higher MMRs.] GW2 is less competitive then a CoD ranked match. XD

That is why the idea of GW2 ever been self proclaimed as a eSports is laugh at to immense measures by the gamers of the actually competitive gaming community. It’s actually a insult to even consider GW2 as a eSports atm, because it undermines eSports as a whole to a degree.

Truth is in most competitive games this is not even a issue. However this is a GW2 issue.
