“ANET listens to volume, not reason.”
So you admit that your argument is not reasonable? Alacrity quite literally broke the game in several parts of PvE and Chronobunker stalled out fights to such an extent that it actually hurt the Esports viability of Guild Wars 2. Watching people fight on point for 5 minutes while Chronos spam their damage mitigation is not interesting. Sure core mesmer needs some sustained damage buffs but the Chronomancer nerfs were completely justified. The worst that will happen is that Chronomancer will take thief’s role as a +1 class and utility with Portal. That’d be fine with me seeing as how Mesmer has been in a great place for over a year and the most desirable class for the past 5 months.
It’s mostly cuz every class was given wayyyy too much for HoT and its time to take it back

This.
While I do agree with you that ANet needs to greatly improve their balancing policies, I honestly do think that you should being so defensive over mesmer and think of the game as a whole. By doing this, you’ll get a lot more people on your side and possibly even make some proper change that satisfies everyone.
Also, I believe ANet needs to decide. Are they going to follow their own design scheme and ignore the players or follow the players and their many (varied) gripes? I believe one of the biggest issues here is that, in terms of design, ANet sometimes listens to their players and sometimes they just don’t. This wish-washy behaviour is, I believe, the root of this mess.
As an example:
ANet has been trying to push for conquest’s growth while a majority of their players simply want to PvP. They try to satisfy their players by introducing a bursty zerk meta but then decide that they want games to be decided around rotations and then they introduce bunkers back into the mix and so on and so forth, each cycle cranking up the buffs/nerfs to 11.
Here’s whatdo,
When the patch hits, pick up a new rune such as Rune of the Scrapper, Melandru, or Dwayna, or Grove.
Pick up the new Paladin Amulet,
Run Chronophantasma (resummon Phantasms when shattered) over Seize the Moment (quickness on shatter). Play around with various utilities & Inspiration Grandmaster trait combinations to find what you like.
You won’t be able to revive against multiple enemies alone, but the build will absolutely be strong and alive in the Emerald division which you are in, guaranteed, if it’s what you like doing (to each their own).
I’m sure Bunker Mesmer will no longer be the most needed, and strongest PvP build in the game anymore, but many PvP teams will still be testing its viability.
So please do the GW2 forums a solid and wait until you play the updated build before creating anymore threads on the topic.

There’s lots of drama floating around over mesmer changes. Look on the bright side: the other team’s mesmers won’t annoy you with their infinite survivability either. I’ve defended points as both druid and ele and only managed to kill mesmers in team fights as revenant (well I beat shatter mesmers in duels but I mean purely chrono) where your two can focus their one after calling target.
Lots of mesmers are complaining about the nerfs but what makes mesmer really useful isn’t even attached to damage or healing modifiers: portal, moa form, alacrity (which does have numbers that are getting shaved), and lots of confusion.
Pick up the new Paladin Amulet
Will it be good for power rev or do you think we should stick with marauder’s? Power rev has a bursty tactical play style where situational awareness comes into play a lot (e.g., knocking down druids on the temple mid vantage point with staff 5 or pulling rezzers off with sword 5) so the damage hit may not be worth the extra toughness. Rev is getting gutted in general but with certain amulets being removed and certain class’s survivability being toned down the rev nerfs might not be felt too much except for the Facet of Light one. Thief may take its place from a damage standpoint but has mobility and flexibility in place of the rev’s timing CC elites like jade winds at the proper moment potentially changing the tides on a node.
You are sad because Anet sold their game with some promises. And now they are taking them away. They should not have given them in the first place. There should not have been a big balance patch about HoT and elites. Everything should be (not perfect but) working and balanced. That is how you sell an expansion pack that costs as much as the original game.
You have every right as a customer to be unhappy. Your feelings are not about game balance or something else, but about a simple promise that is not kept.
ps: this does not change the fact that some of the elite specs are way overpowered, and unjust to other customers.
