For PvP forums we have SPvP and WvW but none for TPvP

SPvP hotjoin may have alot of discussions but IMO

TPvP is alot more deserving for its own sub-forum where tactics, specific builds, team set-ups and so on would be useful..

Name one reason why there shouldn’t be a TPvP sub forum..

Population of people… Although I wish there was then we could address more thought out issues of people that do the tPvP portion of the game versus the constant complaining of certain things by people that hotjoin and get stomped in spvp

I dont think you can compare with that argument..

There is a dedicated WvW forum that those topics can be posted into.. altho i dont WvW so i may be wrong.. but if you need a sub forum to your sub forum to help find weekly matchup’s then im all for that and hope it’s implemented for you guys..

How? Explain this to me since I don’t get it. It’s 5v5 right? Everyone plays with a team versus another team selected at random(until later in the tourney where the better ones continue), right? Both teams still fight on the same 3 maps with the same goal of 500 points total first wins, right? Sure your bars are locked during tournaments but is that really such a radical change?

TPvP is structured pvp. Hotjoin is structured pvp. Therefore, it is ALL structured pvp which is why there is only one SPvP forum for it all. The only reasons for there to be a seperate forum is if the rules for hotjoin and tourneys radically change requiring completely different tactics and teams(I guess think WoW BGs vs Arenas if you played WoW), or if the amount of threads produced by the forumgoers that center on only one or the other becomes so great, that its required in order to maintain, well, order.

I’ve seen boards where posts would be bogged down to 3rd page about 5 seconds after posting it. That’s when subforums makes sense. Wanting a different forum because you may feel that you are superior to the n00bs, and don’t even want to discuss anything around them, is not.

its an informal custom in the community to use the word spvp to refer to hotjoin and tpvp to refer to tournies. But they are really all spvp.

well it has nothing to do with Wanting a different forum because you may feel that you are superior to the n00bs, and don’t even want to discuss anything around them, is not. if you look at my previous post you may see i like helping ppl like posting my build ect ..

have you ever properly played a tournament? yes the rules are the same.. but the tactics are far more prevalent here..

its not just run around.. kill.. cap.. leave.. kill and chasing ppl round the map just to kill them.

its about actually holding the points with… your team that requires a tactic.. and to discuss tactics we usually have forums..

if you think that Hotjoin tactics are the same in TPvP well im lost for words

one key difference off the top of my head is that only one person caps the home base, while the rest kill boss or some go keep right at the start.. where as in hot join everybody caps the home base for the points..

there is alot more team work to win the match than there ever is hotjoin this is why i think it deserves it’s own sub forum..

I do like that TPvP has a lot more tactics involved and communication… I played one hot join match and was turned off to how messy everything was. If the Tpvp population gets big enough and separate from the hotjoin population I would be all for a separate forum…. but right now I just don’t think the numbers are there is all man.

I never said the tactics were the same. I made a long post trying to explain something that I can now explain in 1 sentence thanks to daydream lol. TPvp IS SPvp(which means structured pvp, not just hotjoin whether u think it does or not)

Nothing is stopping you from discussing tactics. As I said in my original post, the traffic simply doesn’t warrant a subforum to sort it. I mean, look, 7 posts in 24hrs and this is still on the first page.

tPvP is part of sPvP, maybe they’ll grant you a tPvP sub forum once there are more than 4 solid tPvP posts a week from members.

Because anet cares about tpvp like the pope cares about the karma sutra.
