I like it. I can really see myself playing this game mode for ranked/unranked. I usually stick to hot joins when I feel in the mood to PvP, but this new game seems like a lot of fun.

I’m new to pvp (mostly do map exploration), and I gotta say, I love stronghold. Best part is I hardly need to fight anyone so I won’t be feeding the enemy team when I play a tanky class. I just run supply all game and still be a big help to my team. Best “pvp” game mode ever! They are doing a good job of introducing new players into pve-
I mean pvp side of this game. ^^

You say this is “best pvp game mode ever” and say “They are doing a good job of introducing new players into pve”?

You can not have 2 game mode together !

I do not blame you for confusion with pvp game mode and pve game mode because that is the problem why Stronghold is bad. Arena net is treating Stronghold like Pve instead of what is suppose to be-PVP- Player versus Player.

" No reason to PvP. After you know the map you just ignore the enemies all together and rush lord "? How is not bad for a pvp game mode?

There was a mmo game that tried the same thing and it failed very fast: did Arena net did not research this?

I like it. It’s a nice change from stand on a point and defend. I’ve been in lots of good fights in Stronghold and seen some good strategy moves. Been in a lot of time running out from both sides playing really well. It’s a nice change from the old.

Map doesn’t suck, people playing it do. The mechanic of the map is simple enough for a 10 yo to understand in first 3 min, yet, people run around like headless chickens.

The main issues I see with the map are the treb (too strong/unneeded) and the guards are too weak.

Like others have mentioned, its pretty easy to just rush the lord and ignore pretty much everything else. This means you lose a lot of the tactical back and forth found in mobas.

The best stronghold games I have played (ie most fun) have been drawn out because we were able to play a mix of defence/attack and domination for resources. However, this only happens if the opposition does not zerg the gate or uses sub optimal classes to attack the gate guards. There are several classes/builds that can down the guards in seconds and unless you send an equal number of defenders you can’t hold them off long.

casual player tactics——>pure pve chase(which is 99% of player population)
high tier player tactics——>bunker escort heal npcs,dps try to kill enemy guards/ 2v2on mid for sup/ dps trying to kill enemy npcs,few fights to summon a hero which is more or less useless
They thought everything well on paper let see how long it will last when it goes live!
Try hard to implement moba in mmo so far in my opinion FAIL!

Must be the worlds smartest 10 year old then.

I played about 5 rounds of Stronghold in the weekend (all lost of course) and I still dont have a kittening clue how the point system even works, except that it has nothing to do with PvP.

Or maybe I am just kittened, I dont know.
