Just a weird thing I’m noticing, I’m very new to PvP and have been losing alot of games, mostly because I think I’m going up against very expirienced PvP’ers ever game I lose they finish the lord off with the dragon rank finisher, am I just queuing up in the wrong area or is the matchmaking that bad or is there a lack of players?

PS: I’m not sure if this belongs in Players helping players but I’ve already posted it, so if the mods need to move it please feel free

They could just be crappy dragon ranks or they took a long break so their mmr decayed. Or they are hot Join heroes.

Also yes, this pvp community is tiny for really good match making.

It doesn’t take long to get the dragon finisher anymore. You can do it in 1-2 weeks of playing, if not less. It is not an indication of skill. Most of the skilled players don’t even use it because of this (they prefer to troll with Llama, Cow, Bunny, etc).

It currently does, but it also depends on when the rank was achieved. Over the years, Glory Rank has seen several changes. At one point, it was possible to farm it in hotjoin farm maps by stacking boosters within a very short time before Anet nerfed that method. Many people who had never PvP’d before used this method to get the dragon finisher because it used to have prestige associated with it.

I prefer the rabbit finisher myself.

Doubt mmr decay, I havent been pvping for like 4 months yet the first unranked match i get into are against 3 ESL premades and 2 other known pvpers.
