They expressed that they dont do much voice comms. I think you absolutly need them when running theif and necro. The last nos death on silent storm was caused by the thief not knowing he could help imo.

If not that, drop the thief, put wakkey back on guard and just hold two nodes. I dont feel like the mes is the entire meta.

I think a game mode that “needs” voice comm and complex multi player interaction doesn’t have much of a place in a public MMO.

It’s a minority, and a small one at that, who are willing and able to put in that amount of time and practice to come to gw2 and have fun.

“Pro League” doesn’t reflect the reality of the majority of the game.

So games like LoL and so on shouldn’t exist since at the higher levels require comms?

Pvp is specifically for competitive players and is solely designed as a competitive team game mode…

“Solely designed as a competitive team game mode?” Where did you get that idea? It was only recently that solo queue was removed.

Sure, there are “teams.” Those groupings are mostly random PuGs. That is not conducive to highly organized team play with 3rd party aps.

All games are competitive by definition even if you’re your own opponent. Recently, “competitive” has become a code-word for “ruthlessly stomp and exploit.” I find that a very bad trend.

Higher levels? What “higher levels?” We’ve had multiple seasons of stacked matches. Divisions don’t reflect skill level very much at all. A few teams make money playing under the big top… but if that is “higher levels” then it’s irrelevant because the vast majority will never get there.

Higher levels of unpaid play? I’m not convinced there is anywhere near the population to support play catering to that group.

So my point remains; There’s really no place in this game, ( for the vast majority of players,) for situations that require voice comms and rehearsed player interaction.

You know the actual tournaments say like the Guild Challenger League as well as the WtS and don’t forget the old Paid tournaments from back in the day are the higher level of competitive play, the seasons were a complete laughing stock of exploits.

But you fail to address that’s the actual game mode is designed around premade teams not solo queue match ups, they added that in so that players didn’t have to team up for the more casual player base. Just because the option exists to queue solo doesn’t mean the gamemode was designed for that.

And you don’t need voice comms in the regular seasons you can be premades without it is a QoL improvement and the Op was solely referring to a WTS team not utilizing Voice Comms which they should have been since it is an actual competitive tournament. It’s not required but they would have done a lot better more than likely.

That’s a dead end argument. There’s neither a way nor a reason to fix it.

They were all sitting together. why in the world would they need voice coms?

You can always run around in big groups auto-attacking champions, however, that really isn’t going to keep people’s interest very long, and any public MMO that doesn’t offer more than that is going to get destroyed. I would argue apart from completing the story line and the brain-dead champion farming, most game modes would be better when coordinated over voice coms…WvW, raids, fractals, spvp…

Err… actually what they said was “We don’t clog up our voice comms with unnecessary information. We just say what’s happening and expect everyone to respond accordingly.”

So they do use voice comms, they just don’t spam voice comms. If you want to confirm my above words, you can check the GW2 twitch video for the Tournament at 4:40:29. The clip that plays from that time stamp onward is where they describe their voice comm use.

Abjured probably lost because they likely didn’t prepare well enough. Since EU is more competitive, their teams can practice against real competition, leading to a higher standard of play.

Btw every competitive team uses voice. What they mean is that they don’t spam their voice channel. They won’t say things like “I totally dodged that skill!” They keep their chat to only relevant info.

Minimal voice comms still hurt a lot. Against nos’s last death on temple of the silent storm lost them the match and was completely avoidable, the theif was nearbye to help.

I sat in the front row. They communicated with each other the entire game.

Secondly, the only issue I saw was that EU has a different style/Meta then NA and since AA is limited in who they can scrim (low NA competitiveness/lags on the EU servers) the gap is starting to grow.

They never said they don’t communicate, they said they don’t say useless things and fill comms with noise. They don’t tell people what to do they just give pertinent info and trust their teammates to make the right decision.
