Look at a popular game like HotS or League of Legends. Someone gets caught out of position, he instantly dies and his team gets punished for it.
Bad comparison, different type of game, MMOs have more skills and generally combat that has more depth, more variety and requires more thought, for that to work you need longer encounters.

Because in this game all the damage is either passive or comes from stealth. There’s nothing wrong with damage or even 1 shot mechanics like FPS games where you can just headshot but when its all passive crap or 0 counter play moa stealth 1 shot then it becomes stupid.
Blacktruth is right it’s time people start to learn and play this game the way it was meant to be like at launch before casuals started asking for nerfs, they were the ones responsible for the warrior nerfs and rise of celestial builds glad anet is twisting things back to it’s origins. I hope this time anet doesn’t listen to these whiners.

I don’t feel any type of Moba nastalgia in Stronghold. I always cringe when people use Moba and Stronghold in the same sentence..

Too me the damage is just right now except burn dmg which should be lowered a tiny bit. Roles have finally come back into pvp and for what ever reason people are hating it. Teams need bunker healers who can remove condi but no one wants to run them. Teams need a all around player for good movement who can do a little of everything but wont be great at anything and finally theres a need for dps players to kill the bunkers.

You need to also remember Moba matches are usually an hour long, and all of their attack are telegraph and the most important thing is ALL OF THE HEROES HAVE A FIX BUILD, only thing differentiating them is the item used.
GW2 will never be on those Moba eSports level simply due to there’s too much instant skill, too many variety of builds and the worst part is too many passive play/damage. None of my friends would watch me play GW2, but most of them like it when I play dota/LoL because it is easier to understand and the skills is on how you control your heroes, unlike GW2 it is all about the passive play.
It’s been needing that because this game has too many “I screwed up buttons” for this damage pool to be not reasonable.
I’m not alone in this thought? Thank god.
