Why death match is only hotjoin?
I don’t think it is ever a good play to throw something brand new into tournament play.
It doesn’t matter as much in GW2, but still, it is always a better idea to see how the map pans out over time, then add it to the queue later on.

GW2’s “Tournament play” is the normals queue system of any other game.
SPvP is mindless zerging/shenanigans.
TPvP is somewhat structured PvP.
They really should have just made a ‘pick and choose maps to queue for’ option in the tourny guy ages ago.
Then they could spew out modes/maps and see where it goes as people flock towards the styles they enjoy. Then Anet just needs to watch and fallow suite.

In the Twitch broadcast where it was announced they stated that it was in a beta phase.
There isn’t a timeline yet for adding it to the main rotation, but I’d say it’s likely to happen.
I’m glad they’re doing it this way – I’ve already seen people glitch through the floor, become invincible, and still were able to kill other players.
They haven’t made official queues for TDM, because they want to see how the game-mode develops first. If it just devolves into thieves having a circle-jerk, ganking everyone from stealth – don’t expect it to become an official game-mode.
It could have a queue, doesn’t mean it has to be ranked or us MMR. Simply allowing people to find games.
Needs a que, can’t get even matches. For those of us that bought this game for the balanced PvP we expected from GW1, hotjoin does not work. Don’t get me wrong, I got the high scores I wanted and had done fun last night, but still never got a single, close to balanced death match, which I have waited many years for now.
I’m starting to think I should just get my accounts refunded and just move to a game where they don’t just randomly do whatever they want all the time. "We heard you all have a great idea the majority of you agree on! That’s why we’re totally going to do something else! " Guild Wars programmers do it for the lulz.
Vash, I think you should look into joining Fight Club (I think that is the official guild name) that holds 2v2’s and 3v3’s quite frequently. People there aren’t quite as yolo, and you can actually work with 1-2 other people to comp out your party and fight better as a group.
@Blackbeard
Thanks for that advice, I will look into that actually. Sounds fun, could be cool with the courtyard, which I really did like, generally.
Also, respawn after death was too quick. not punishing enough to die.
