Why did they split up the Mists by server?
I agree. I am much more in favor of splitting by language districts in gw1. It was a simpler and more elegant solution. In my opinion pve should have been done this way as well, but really the pvpers are most hurt by it because they are a smaller percent of the population. I’m on a pvp-oriented server, and it boggles my mind that I have so much trouble forming a tourny party.
It’s been stated before. The reason the mists are split up is because everyone will be sent to different overflow servers anyway if all the mists are combined into one.
@Rell, yes. That’s true. I was saying that’s what I didn’t like exactly because it creates barriers to finding more people. GW1 system was very different and better, and I’d rather have that, if only for in heart of the mists. I realize this may never happen.

Which is basically what happened in GW1. If district 1 was full, you could wait in one of the other districts until a spot opened up, but once you got into district 1 you knew that was where everyone else was as well. With the Mists fragmented as it is now, forming groups and meeting fellow pvpers is tough… I feel like GW2 won’t ever have the pvp community that GW1 had if it stays like this.
Yeah its a real shame, especially late at night/early morning currently, most people have gone to sleep so i guess theres only a few in every zone (talking europe here), also the international districts, brought many communitys togeather from far off continents, thinking about it now, its really mind blowing at how amazing that accomplisment was.
@Milo, Gw1’s system was different, but better? Hardly. Let’s ALL go to district 1 and spam “lfg lfg lfg lfg lfg lfg” turning chat into a huge stream of spam.
I don’t miss that.. I don’t miss that at all.
Haku it’s like you’re contrary just to have a reason to type something.
Haku, what is the current alternative? Sitting in my Mists spamming lfg to even less people?
I think they did mention a while ago they are looking to improve on the LFG function in gw2. It just needs something like what gw1 had, where you can see/join all the LFG messages from other servers in a UI which you can bring up.
