As the title says, high MMR players are punished on the leaderboards.

For example, 80% of my q’s are solo, 15% duo and 5% 3+. Here’s my leaderboard ranks:
333 points for 393 Wins and 175 Losses
.58 points per game, and if 1 win is 1 point, I lose .34points per loss.

Then we look at the #1 player
590 Points for 586 Wins and 525 Losses
.53 points per game. If 1 win is 1 point, he GAINS a tiny amount of points per loss.

Basically the low MMR player (please don’t argue this) makes it impossible to be punished. As long as he’s playing the same amount of games as me, it doesn’t matter if he wins or loses because he gets nearly the same amount of points per game as I do.
How is it fair that I HAVE to win to keep up at the same points/game ratio as him when it literally doesn’t matter if he wins majority or not (he gets -0 while I get -1+)

I thought the whole reason this leaderboard was balanced was because better players can play less games and keep the same amount of points. This just simply isn’t true. I honestly don’t think .05 points per game is a significant difference between 69% W/L (top MMR) and a 52% W/L (low MMR).

What do you want us to say? You’re right obviously. High MMR players complained under the old system that casual players were on the LB, and now it’s grinders. I preferred casuals.

You’re not being punished any more so than someone like me. I have mediocre MMR and get matched with people who don’t even understand map mechanics all the time. If I purely stick to my engineer I can get a pretty decent win/loss ratio. I think I had 60% quite awhile when they last reset the LB. Then I started playing other classes a little and my win/loss ratio tanked. Still on the right side of 50% though.

I feel like matchmaking is always some 50/50 proposition where I’m determining the 50% of my team’s chance of winning a larger amount of times than I should have to.

What would you rather?

A) Being teamed with obviously unskilled players.
B) Teaming with Ostrich (I have seen you teamed with him quite a bit) and other good players, and against other good players.

Ask that because obviously when the leaderboard is off season it is completely meaningless.

The leaderboards really don’t mean anything at the moment, so I don’t see the point in getting worked up about them. These are complaints we all heard before, and everyone knows the new system has some flaws, plus it’s the off season so there are no rewards tied to them. Hopefully, once Anet kicks off a new season, they’ll have taken everything they have learned into consideration from the test and off season, and we’ll actually get a meaningful leaderboard and leagues maybe.
