I play daily, and I seem to get a lot of hate when I play my bow Ranger. When I’m on my Warrior or Thief, people don’t say much when I kill them. But when I kill someone with my bow, people get angry at me.

My question is why do people hate Ranger players? I’m not god mode because I can die too. I just don’t understand.

cuz ppl are bad and think pewpew-ranger is easy…. but it’s only easy if played against bad players. ^^’

But the enemy kills me too. It’s not like I never die as a Ranger. The only difference is that I shoot arrows. Elementalists cast magic at me, so they’re similar to Rangers, but no one complains about them. I have a hard time killing Guardians because they are so tough, but I don’t complain.

Was there something else that happened years before I bought this game that I don’t know about? Something that made people hate Rangers for a long time? Like a glitch or bug that made Rangers invincible?

Rangers are weakest profession in the game.

So if I kill someone in PvP with my Ranger, and I’m considered weak, that means the person I just killed is weaker? I guess I understand why people would get mad at me. But it’s not like I’m the best PvP player. I don’t have the skills to compeat in tournaments.

People hate losing/dying. Don’t take it personally.

Rangers are not weak; not in damage, not in surviving, not in conditions, … probably CC? The profession itself just has too many internal issues. Primarily, pets. Pets kitten up the whole profession.

I only play ranger and I dislike seeing other rangers, with a few exceptions. it’s hard to play one effectively.

This community has a tendency toward bandwagoning on bias that’s a bit disturbing. Once something is deemed “unskillful play” they will rally to see it destroyed and insult people for playing it because it’s “easy mode”.

I’ve had defeated players call me a scrub for playing an “unskilled class” after I defeated them using freaking dual axes. Just laugh it off and go on playing.

Yes, being ranged and pewpewing everybody can help your team, but when you do this without helping your team to do objecties as stomp/holding, you are not being useful, that’s what is he saying… another example, staff eles, they can be well positioned spamming dps areas into teamfights, and they are helping their team, but if they dont use their support areas or utilities they arent being optimal

Ok. I didn’t understand his hate for me killing him with arrows. After I kill people, I stand on the flag circles for my team points. I thought maybe I wasn’t doing something for my team. thanks for clearing up for me.

Maybe they hate you because you call capture points “flag circles”….just a guess :p

I’ve literally only ran into like 2 or 3 power rangers that really impressed me, which is a far lower proportion than the amount of players on other classes that have really impressed me.

I wasn’t hating on you and I am sorry if I gave you that impression. I don’t care about being killed by arrows. Its part of the game. I’ll give you an example of what happened with a ranger on my team once, maybe it will clarify what I was trying to convey.

I was fighting at point (temple gate) holding off a 2v1 while my team was busy elsewhere and my health was getting low. Our expert ranger shows up to give me a hand, perched up on one of the columns using his LB. Fine, I’m still holding point and he is helping with damage. We manage to down 1, but his teammate gets a lucky shot and I go down before I can get a stomp in. Instead of coming down to either stomp the guy that was down, or even interrupt the guy stomping me, all he did was stay up on that column spamming rapid fire. He didn’t even come down to try a delay the cap until back up arrive (which was on the way) we lost mid and eventually the game.

I dislike rangers who can’t stand on a point to save their lives. It’s not when I’m fighting them , it’s when I’m fighting with them.

ive seen ESL ganes where a ‘pew pew’ ranger spent the whole game shooting enemies off ledges. guess which team won because they were able to slay in teamfights? oh yeah it was the one with the ranger.

People don’t hate rangers in general, only the useless ones that offer no team support at critical times. And maybe they hate the boastful ones too. Not sure.

I just witnessed a quitter on opposite team because they had 2 rangers.
