condi mesmers and condi rangers are a larger threat. They apply a lot of attrition that kills you slowly but almost always guaranteed to kill you.

Burn engies and guards lose to condi Mesmer and rangers. Maybe it’s not as popular yet because it doesn’t kill as fast as burn builds. But compared to burn builds, they also sustain far better and aren’t one trick lil ponies

Because baddies die to burn builds and proceed to swarm the forums with complaints instead of learning how to counter them.

… because burn is high damage short duration? Make it the same as other condi’s (lower damage per tick and longer duration) and I imagine the complaints will drop dramatically.

Of course, those built around burns are dead against that. I wonder why

I fight condi mesmers and sometimes they get the better of me, sometimes they don’t. But it’s mainly condition damage and not direct damage. Burn guardians do decent to good direct damage and high condi damage.
