Why does thief have 4s reveal still?
yes . . . yes . . . yes and yes . . . is not fair. . . Anet nerfed thief to ground even with builds that can not easily cap.
thief has 4 seconds reveal because of the problems in wvw in culling. then they fixed culling but for some reason they left 4 second reveal in pvp. so we got 4 second reveal in pvp because anet wanted to fix wvw

I’m not, this was a change made because of the dominance of thieves in wvw with the extra second they got after stealth ended, because of culling. Then they removed culling and reverted revealed to 3 seconds in wvw and kept 4 seconds in spvp. If any of the game modes had to keep 4 second revealed , it should have been wvw because damage there is a lot higher than in spvp and more backstabs have a much greater impact than they would have here.
But you really like your logic though.

Because A-net knows everybody but thieves hate stealth. It’s not whack a mole necessarily. Just because they made a change for one reason doesn’t mean they can’t keep it for another. They apparently think that 4 second reveal is good.
I think mesmers and rangers like stealth too. And pretty much any memo that has a rogue/assassin/thief has stealth for it. Its their speciality/lore. And I’m sorry but I don’t think you see teams full of thieves like there is warriors or necros. Thieves are good for the role that they have in a team. And I’m sorry but its not that hard to kill a noob l2p thief compared to a noob l2p warrior. Just saying. Now if you’re facing a warrior that knows his class well and is really experienced then all you need to do is know how to play your class well and be experienced and get to a better area. Thieves are best at finding someone alone and by themselves and decapping far and giving minor support at mid from a vantage point with sb. They are not op in the slightest.

1. watch streams where devs played thieves.. it is comical…. will make you stop wonder why thief changes are so silly
2. christmas time, they are probably on vacation till 7th Jan or so, you won’t get any answers till then..if even
as for revealed debuff, probably won’t change… it seems like they keep pushing that venom share crap idea at costs of other builds and course probably won’t change for a while….

Already have warrior and every other class to 80 thanks to my glory, but I don’t really enjoy it as much as I do thief.
Eh, except for warrior and necro, just about every great profession & build combo has been nerfed quite a bit over the past year. I think it’s mistake to wish thieves would be back to where they were in Sept. 2012. Rather I think warrior is next on the chopping block of doom, then probably necro again, until eventually thieves, even with 4 sec reveal, will be considered op.

In the livestream for the patch preview at that time, they said they reverted the stealth nerf because the thieves were whining a lot in forums. True freaking words.
Balance wise there is no reason to still have a 4 second reveal as none of the viable Thief build relies on extensive stealth use.
But Anet makes changes so slow and randomly that this will probably still be the case in a year from now. They haven’t even gotten around to addressing Last Refuge.
