So i’m just curious why players have to do all the work setting up tournies Leagues?

didn’t Anet say they were gonna set up daily/weekly/monthly tournaments with prizes?

I know gw1 had them why cant Gw2 shouldn’t the next step from gw1 be creating a better pvp environment not a worse one? What ever happend to once we get the ball rolling lots of thing will come …. well i think the ball has rolled to china and back by now

Kind of confused why they are just sitting back doing nothing while the game dies more as usual that’s all

Ps – i hate qqing but apparently they need to hear these things

not sure could be a lot of reasons

-they saw not many people spvp and decided againts it
-planning on it but not ready for it yet
-Anet bait and switch there players
-they changed there minds and decided not to
-they decided to support mostly pve instead

could be any reason cant say for sure and if they decided against it they would never let us know do to PR reasons

i say we go kitten up the PR department

The ball never got rolling. They tried and it got caught in the red tape of NCSoft.
Someone Not ANet: “Hey, lets make custom arenas for release”, “Yea, that would be pretty cool”
Someone Not NCSoft: “Custom arenas, how much would that net? Not as much as RNG chest, as much as we like GW2, we want to expand our other games instead, so give us your money or we wont publish the game”
Someone Not ANet: “You do know this is the pvp divison —-” his words were cut by the Someone Not NCSoft: “RNG CHESTS!!!!!!”

And that’s why pvp is so under represented or cared about by Someone Not ANet.

Please look up the difference between there and their. The American education system has failed you.

The reason Anet does not fund tourneys is because their resources are spread quite thin already. The game is a good PvP focused MMORPG, but this genre habitation is much different from being a PvP centered game aka. MOBA-style/Arena Game.

As an mmorpg the PvP devs have to share their resources with PvE developers. PvP centered games have no such limitations are free to pool all their financial and human resources into streamlining the gameplay and the balance of PvP. Furthermore mmorpg PvP devs have to work in tandem with the PvE devs and have to endeavor to satisfy their bipolar audience. This creates great lags in the development process.

End result, and basically the gist is: GW2 cannot compete with PvP games currently on the market.

Which other games we have PvP except WoW or NW or any games that has the dodge function like GW2 besides NW?

I know of this issue from being apart of other MMO communities, where the developer is eager to improve and make the game the best possible but the company that owns that developer only cares about $$$$$….

I still complain to the developers and blame them.
One thing you learn in military is chain of command, in the navy its you, 1st class, chief, divo, dept head, cmc, xo, co…. If the chit gets past your divo all the other people normally agree with it, the problem in navy is getting past either the chief or the divo because you always got a kittenhead one or the other…. I’ve never had a problem with 1st class they want to be your buddy because you make them look good… but anyways only your divo and below will see your actions and fustrations the dept head only sees the outcomes. In this scenario is YOU then the developer then the company. The developer I assume would be like a chief or divo you can have kittenhead ones that never listen to feedback and ones that will listen through it, then you got the company that owns the developer they only see the cash flow they don’t give a kitten if people be hating GW2 as long as they making that dough they don’t give a kitten. Hence why I complain to the developers, they need to seriously step up and submit some chits to get the right content rolling, they need to explain how if you add this content it wont immediately bring in the cash but in the long term it will increase revenues and such.

Now there just maybe a person inbetween the developer and company, like someone that decides whether or not its worth time spent working on it, maybe a hidden person is inbetween, maybe the developers our the 1st classes and buddies with us, because they feel our pain working hard and getting yelled at all day long by chiefs and divos. In this scenario messed up game, so much broken matchmaking solo que etc and understand our pain, but the person inbetween not going two kittens about it and force them to do something that’s less productive in your mind but more productive to them.

Too bad that they are dependent on their bosses to keep their pocket. Can’t blame them. Do it or get fired. That is the reality.

Yup totally agree with you there.

But don’t forget your the customer so you have the rights to complain and if you never complain they’ll never give you the customer satisfaction that you deserve.

If Anet claimed they have esports pvp and you don’t get esports pvp then complain.
If outback steakhouse claims they got the best steaks and you order a well done steak and they give you a rare steak, COMPLAIN, don’t just sit there and do nothing.

Agree with you. However unless, the loss of customer make a big loss to them, most of the business out there won’t care for a minor loss of customer.

But back to the main topic, yes I agree anet should start its own tournament and it should be unlimited players because I don’t want to watch people play for 5 hours on twitch, I want to be in it.

There shouldn’t be any signups or anything, it should be every Friday at 8pm centeral you goto hearts of mist you que up, que ends at 8:10pm centeral (include solo que, if not enough people for final team, then too bad for 1-4 people) then you wait additional 5-10 mins for matchmaking system to work (making solo que teams viable and reasonable and putting teams against each other correctly so there are good and close matches) then a real person/developer to physically reviews the matchmaking of the tournament, tournament begins and in pvp window everyone can view it, in pvp window it shows names of people on each team, the team leader can modify his team information if he/she pleases and you have scoreboard in that pvp window when viewing that tournament game. If they had bigger spectator arena and had ways to prevent people from snitching then I’d say they could physically watch it in game, but I’d be happy enough with watching the scoreboard of the teams that I’ll be going against or my buddies are on and who they are playing with and against. This is more for people getting to know the community than it is for getting rewards. Maybe just reward something like 10 gems times number of teams faced is how much 1st place gets, 7 gems times number of teams faced is how much 2nd place gets and 3rd place is 5 gems times number of teams faced and everyone else gets 5 gems for participation.

Bigger the tournament, more rewards you get, who better promote then the people who are the best going around telling you to join it so they can win more games and get more gems.

ANet u wanna comment on this please? Maybe you are working on something? You guys should atleast let us know whats going on cause to be honest i dont see the gw2 community running things very well.

LOL, good luck with that. They don’t care. What you have is what you get with this game. Take it or leave it.
