I haven’t been around much but with private servers why is it no one is doing this? Lack of motivation?

because the game is horribly bad and unbalanced.
therefore none cares about tournaments or wastes time in this thing.

People are hosting their own tourneys. BT had hosted a 1v1 and now a 3v3 tourney that I know of, and tourneys like mist league were created by players before anet joined up.

Just check out the events section of the forums.

There are a ton of tourneys being hosted… in the PvP Events forum.

mist league is open for anybody to join.
