Why have pve map in PvP?
Technically there is no such thing as PVP in any video game if you go by the strictest definition. If you want true PVP go outside and play a sport.
Meanwhile I am quite looking forward to Stronghold. It’s a pretty fun map and a welcome change from endless Conquest maps.
People love Stronghold, including me.
If you don’t like it, don’t queue it. Problem solved!. Just like no one forces a hater to play WvW or PvE.

No, some of the playerbase said no and others like it. they included the option to not queue for it so you don’t have to play it. Personally I like to have something different than the same conquest maps that everyone complains about if it isn’t basically Foefire or Forest remade with a new map.
I say the ratio is 5:1 with people loving strong hold being the 5.
If that particular game mode offends you too much, you are able to opt out of playing it.

I’m not sure yet if people genuinely like stronghold because it’s good, or because it’s something new and different to the conquest chore we’ve had for the past 3 years.
Personally I’m really enjoying Stronghold, but again, I can’t tell if I like it because I think it’s good, or because it’s just something different.

WE screamed against Stronghold when it was tested last time. Why put this lousy PvE map in our pvp? Honestly, your player base already said NO and you just ignore them, waste your time and resources and give us a map that clearly we do not want.
because you will play what they tell you to play! don’t like it, shut up and play it!
but seriously, atleast this time they had the sense to make it optional,
the last 2 abominations they added Campyard and Suckhammer were forced into the unranked rotation and there they remain.
I’ve enjoyed stronghold. It allows for more builds. In it’s current form there are npcs, but, with the exception of the lord, they all melt so fast that if you rely on them you’ll lose every time so players are needed. Not a bad thing, but then you have to question why they are there.

Putting NPC’s in PvP doesn’t make it PvE.
The only way you win a Stronghold match without engaging in PvP is if the entire opposing team a) doesn’t know how to play the map or b) is AFK for the entire of the match.
If I would change anything at all in the map is remove the ability to spawn archers when all guards are dead (ie. opposing lord room is open). Archers are useless anyways, a player can do their job 100 times better right now.
The downfall of most Stronghold games at the moment is one team not delaying the offensive push of the opponent at all. They will only consider defense when the first gate is down. While denying supply is also valid defense, after the recent changes, it is still super easy to get ahead of opposing team simply by rushing your own offensive because most opponents do nothing to stop you before the first VO about outer gate.

Concur with some of the above. They did listen, they allowed players to select the game modes that people wanted to play. And though I do not like the Courtyard map that much it would be nice to see TDM as a separate queue toggle as well. That way people can target game modes that fit their mood at the time.

I am lost as to how this is a PVE map, I can only imagine these are people trying to just rush the lord.
I have seen more fighting over supplies, more fighting over mist champions and more lord room fights.
In WvW one of the funner things that happens, is the lord room fights to save/take the lord, and this captures it in small battles, why I like this is I get to have more of these fights on a regular basis.
Honestly, if you play this map against another team that knows what they are doing, you will constantly be challenged every step of the way.

The game mode itself is fine. They just need to find more ways to encourage the PvP aspect on the map. That’s why I argue in favor of allowing channels to be interrupted by damage. That means the team who wins the fight gets the champion. Right now it is whoever has the longest pulsing stability.
2v2s 3v3s and maybe if we balance around 1v1s some how (maybe give all 5 spec lines) would be great for actual PvP to be 100% PvP and no stupid territories… but I spend most of time in stronghold fighting players. Maye I’m doing it wrong but our team wins and I had fun. I see no problem as if yet? And the changes were pretty good
