I log in, feel like playing some pvp, get into a match start attacking an enemy, boom! i get a big wave of toxic mean words coming my way. F.. stupid, troll, idiot, jerk, other stuff i don’t want to mention ..
what am i doing wrong exactly? .. playing the game is not the point anymore?
i’m not sure if this is a new way to idle or whatever. it needs to stop. and people need to chill. GW2 community used to be better than this. >:/

did you join a custom arena (hotjoin) dailies room ?

Okay, so a problem might be:

-Attacking the mobs
-Attacking a rev when he has his glint heal up
-Not focusing the target

Those are the only ones I can think of :/

If you’re doing hot join you could’ve been thrown in a server with a dedicated purpose like dueling or dailies. That’s not your fault that’s anets algorithm being dumb.

If you’re doing unranked queuing I haven’t the faintest clue. Running a non meta build can merit that but rarely. I’ve seen spirit weapon dragon hunters not get a single flame, so I can’t say.

There is nothing that you can do to stop people calling you a troll and stuff like that. It is just the way the pvp community is. If things are not going the way some people want, they will just try to look for someone to blame which will sometimes be you. Don’t let these comments stop you enjoying pvp, because whatever you do you will always meet people who insult others. If you just ignore whatever people are insulting you for and just try to improve as a player in your own way, that is the best thing you could do if you are trying to pvp seriously.

i’m not sure, but people in there seem to not be playing the game, my team mates (red team) were just standing there. while i was getting killed over and over again.

then i asked what’s going on. everyone were .. what the hell you doing, are you crazy.

It sounds like you entered a custom arena designed for 1v1 dueling.

When you enter a 1v1 dueling arena, people are generally standing around doing nothing as they search for specific opponents to duel and get practice against. If you attack them before discussing a said duel with them, you will be seen as a troll and they will repeatedly all kill you to make you leave the game. You are supposed to ask someone if they want to duel you before attacking them and both of you are supposed to /bow before the duel actually starts.

Stop going to custom arenas to look for conquest. Click the unranked match button.

Im agreeing with Trevor here. Hes right in that you probably intruded on a duel server. Be very careful to read the titles of the servers you join if you are going to do custom arenas. Unranked arenas are a much safer bet. As people there are typically oriented more towards playing the conquest/stronghold game modes.

You either joined a dueling server or simply happened upon some kittens. Just right-click, block and move on. kittens will be kittens, nothing you can do about it. Play your game and have fun
