The game has been out for over 2 years and Im just wondering why we only have 1 game mode in SPvP? Doesnt it get stale? Wasnt GW1 filled with more modes? I am but rookie that dont play very often but surely this must have an impact on the game itself.

Perhaps there are official responses on these matters after such long time, of why they arnt focusing on such?

I’ve been playing Destiny lately, and I really like their approach to conquest. Pretty much you have the standard three points. However the points just act like a kill modifier. So if you get a kill and your team doesn’t have any points held it’s only 50. If you have one point held then it’s 100, and etc for the more points your team holds.

I’d like to see something like this in GW2, this would put more emphasize on actually fighting and pvp, and less on standing around on points.

Because my highly coordinated might stacking 5 soldier thief team all with mercy runes would coordinate back stab someone and then run and hide for the rest of the game. #TDM.

We have been asking this question for YEARS! Anet’s response is always the same! Silence! Or they tell us, “Listen playerbase! We put out custom arenas! You can create your own game mode! Ho ho haw hee ho!” All Vee Wee wants is arenas as an official game mode! Vee Wee even helped Arenanet in designing a map! It’s really easy! There’s only 3 steps in designing an arena map!

  1. Pick a shape! This is the map!
  2. Pick smaller shapes! These are objects you can hide behind!
  3. Add trees and flowers to make the map look pretty!

And that’s just one issue! The other is balance! Ever play WvW! It’s just awful! Vee Wee thinks that any form of arenas will be the same! Trolly builds run by bad players will be the new meta! A real shame! The same thing applies to other kinds of game modes! Immob stacking in CTF! No thanks! The whole thing is just disappointing to think about!

I know a lot of players that, during the days of GW1, played only Tomb, for years, and others (like myself) that played only GvG. You could say that removing either would decrease the playerbase, maybe it’s true, but the problem that even just the playerbase of only Tomb or only GvG was a lot wider than the one actually playing any GW2 queue (solo or team).

It’s not a matter of absence of more than 1 game mode in the end, it’s the fact that this conquest mode it’s just bad and boring.
