Why is dishonor turned off?
It didn’t work correctly and they still haven’t fix it. It was giving dishonor when it shouldn’t and compounding too quickly in some cases.
Penalizing disconnects doesn’t truly solve the problem either since you can just AFK in spawn instead of leaving the match.
Why are the Dev’s scared to turn it back on? Because players who genuinely disconnect will be penalized and come here and moan? Quite frankly, I suggest most people would agree, if you are suffering recurring bad connection problems and choose to play pvp, you deserve to be penalized and have no right to complain.

Yeah that’s the point actually. Why should he ruin 1/3 of other players game? I sometimes have realy high ping and bad dc, I prefer to not play at all and I’m looking to solve my issues once and for all but I cannot blame Anet for my personal problems
but they’re a lot stronger
than they will be next year!

Of course it is fair. why should the other 9 players have their game affected because someone who is experiencing connectivity issues decides now would be a good time to play a pvp match?
With regard to hotjoin, the obvious reason why so many matches don’t have the same number of players on each team is because ppl can leave without penalty – having dishonor switched on there would probably have a greater positive impact than in unranked/ranked.

i had a guy afk for over 5 matches reported by 5 different teams and as u can see even screen shots of him gloating about him being untouchable by the devs and that he has been reported loads of times for it with no consequences. yet hes still playing

and there was me thinking it was because people spectate and wait for someone to join the losing team before they fight with the other spectators to join the winning team… how silly of me
