When I am on the red team, I am always hopelessly confused about who is my ally and who is my enemy.

That is,.. a red circle is my team’s captured point, but a red tagged player is my enemy… except of course on the mini-map, where red players are my teammates.

Is this just me?

Why don’t we at least have “yellow and purple” teams if there is a consistent red for enemy and blue for ally?

I actually get really confused by this at times because I turned off the default red blue colouring of armor, it makes it a lot easier but I dont like how it looks haha. also just press b and you can see what team you are on ez

I don’t know how orange and hot pink compare from a colour blind perspective… but they are both pretty awesome colours.

When I’m red, I feel like even if it’s that split-second of confusion, it’s enough to give blue an advantage. I find myself more likely to win when I am blue than red.

I’ve got no problem at all. For me it;s just 2 totally diffrent things mb thats why. Well, hundreds of hours spent in WvW mb helps.

No one likes the blue and red colors they used anyways. Make teams how all things in life should be! Black and white!

The red and blue teams can be confusing at first because you want to associate red with the enemy. Red = Dead? You’ll get used to it after a while and it wont bother you as much. Just make sure before the match starts that you know what team your on and you’ll do fine.

Or, just turn off all team colors and look for any red named enemy you can tab target to. People who spend time to dye their armor all nice would appreciate that. :P

The only issue, at least big one that I see, is that the game randomly tosses you between sides. If a faction is always red and another is always blue, then sure, those colors would be fine, you would get used to them through consistency. But a game randomly switching between the two… and one is a universally known color for ‘enemy’… you can’t try much harder to confuse players.

I was about to say the same thing, they are perfect contrasts. But then think about, Black vs White, Race Wars 2 :P Reminds me of the PS3 (could have been PSP actually) advert that did the whole black vs white and they got into trouble for that. Think thats why its avoided.

Black and white are shades. Humans are brown and peach, and depending on RNG you have an equal chance at being either. People just need to get over their over sensitive bologna, making everything racial. True point: Making everything about races keeps racism alive. I say make teams black and white to support anti-racism!

I don’t see this a problem because

A) Your screen is slightly tinted to the color of the team you are on.
B) Your unit frames are colored to the team you are on.
C) You have an option to turn of dyes and make them team colors.
D) When you are standing on a base, it becomes clear which team color you are on.
E) Mini map teammates are your team color, rather than the class colors.

I think OP is the blue scout that complains about red spy because of this:

Funny story with this. I had hot joined around 100-150+ matches pretty much exclusively as blue (I won’t tell the sad story of why I hate red, but I hate everything red, so I only play blue).

I then started doing my first tpvp. I was red. I wasn’t an actual bunker spec, but everyone had abandoned keep on Forest of Niflhel, so I was standing back in the corner waiting for the sucker to jump in am try to keep and me unleash my condition barrage.

The keep was BLUE though, so I assumed we owned it, but we were RED. /facepalm

I sat there staring at a point we didn’t own for a good minute assuming we owned it since it wasn’t red.

Don’t worry OP, you will get used to this. It was also confusing to me during the beta and early release, but after a while it becomes natural enough that you won’t confuse team colors with player name colors.

I totally agree because history has shown ignoring it works wonders.

whats with b, just look at aura around you skillbar, or roster at top left
