and now think about a szenario where condi necro would not handle most of the other condi classes. you would see much more condi classes all over the place. and why not, its easy and aoe.

I think we have the solution, resistance. It just needs to be applied to way more skills. More heals could have it, more traits, etc. Give all profs access to it.

Ever heard of boon corruption? And how often boons can be corrupted these days??

Everything is supposed to have a counter.

The solution isn’t to nerf condis into uselessness

That would create more problems. Necros and Mallyx Rev have best options to remove boons. That said. All other condi classes would be useless.
We need to rework condis or back-rework them.

I’m not saying to give 20 seconds of resistance so that removal/corrupt would be needed. I am saying add like ONE second of resistance to traits here and there. Similar to how the old durability runes worked.

So you randomly have a 1 sec of resistance every 10 seconds or so. Stuff like that. Decreases condi damage, gives options to counter it, still a double edged sword vs some classes, but hardly needed and difficult to time.

Necros doesn’t explain why mesmer are meta but no other condi builds. Scrapper, revs, thieves and dh clearly work better with power builds, they won’t suddenly play condi just because there are no necros. Same with eles, who would stick with a support role. Druid and warrior might be debatable. But warrior won’t be meta anyways and druid doesn’t run power now only because of necros, so i doubt, it won’t change much.

Most condi builds suck and are clearly weaker than power meta builds.

So you randomly have a 1 sec of resistance every 10 seconds or so. Stuff like that.

Yea, because more randomness and boon spam is what the game needs …

’Simple. It’s too passive and easy. You can simply apply, and re-apply conditions whenever you choose, there is no immunity,…."

Resistance boon. It make you resistant to conditions.
Hoelbrak/melandru runes.
Transfer via generosity sigil.
Transfer via skills I.E plague signet
Cleanses..lots of cleanses..cleanses every where…

“it’s too passive….you simply apply and reapply whenever you choose.” It can’t be passive and active at the same. If your applying whenever you choose, it is active..if triggers without you doing anything, it is passive..

Granted some professions deal with conditions better than others, this is why you can swap sigils, traits and professions before a match starts depending on what the other teams composition is.

Hope this helps.

I think there are a lot of kind of… useless or confusing stats. I’m still not even entirely sure I understand the difference between ferocity and precision. Precision grants critical strike chance and ferocity critical strike bonus?

Wouldn’t mid a resistance stat though, tbh.

Precsision affects how often you crit. Ferocity affects how big your crits are.

So, frequency vs. magnitude

The problem with condi is, all of them (besides bleed and burning) have secondary control effect and they are usually very easily applied which makes them more powerful than direct dmg (i can kill ppl alone by spamming scepter AA on my necro atm).

Imagine if each thief AA also applied 0.5 sec daze. That is what condis are atm.

I don’t think that they were meant to be that strong in dmg department at begin but have more of support role. I am guessing Anet ran out of ideas for powercreep and now we have fear that does high dmg, chill that does high dmg, confusion that does high dmg even if you don’t do anything, poison stacking now, burning stacking now etc.

It is also really stupid that for condis to work you need 1 stat. For direct dmg to work you usually want 3 stats.

Vitality does not counter anything. It’s a TTK increase against anything. TTK increase != counter.
