I will try to talk from a general standpoint instead of a biased viewpoint, but I seriously want to know the answer to these questions. Other than condi clears… there is no real counter-play to condition builds. Condition doesn’t even provoke the use of “Evades” because typically they’re really “tanky” builds and don’t need to dodge skills at all. Mesmer new rework allow them to spawn clones constantly and now because of PU they can go stealth for up to 10 seconds and condi-burst you down. Also reveal trait from engineer and ranger; there is ABSOLUTELY NO COUNTER PLAY for reveal trait and skill. You can NOT even dodge the skill from ranger and can be revealed from 2,000 feet away. My opinion on the skill (whether you agree or not) is that the pet should only HIT you for you to be revealed. If it was my game… I’d say you get revealed if you was hit while you was in stealth. It would involve MORE SKILL BASED PLAYERS and strategy to dodges . What use is the function if people just hide in stealth all day? And lastly auto-aiming rangers. The fact that their rapid fire can shoot you constantly even after you stealth. This is with any skill though, but I believe the auto-aiming needs rework. You should lose auto aim once that person goes stealth, regardless of the skill still being activated. Please i hope some one reads this , I am open for all harsh criticism maybe I am wrong.
So…are you complaining about stealth or about anti-stealth mechanics?
Besides, mesmer clone production was actually nerfed with the Vigor change.
You know how to avoid being hit by rapid fire when you are in stealth? Go into stealth before the ranger starts using rapid fire. If they can’t target you the channel won’t follow you.
Every channeled skill works this way, stop treating stealth like it’s invulnerability.
The counter play to condition builds is high physical damage. Conditions have a wind up, physical damage does not. Don’t let a condition build stack conditions on you.
Example: I run a full Berserker Warrior in WvW. Condition builds rarely, with the exception of Mesmer and Necromancer, manage to overwhelm me because I burst them down before they can stack conditions on me. Condition Thief as soon as they get near me I land one hard CC on them and the damage that follows puts them to rest. Physical damage is instant, condition damage is not.
You’re right there is no counterplay to “Sic ’em!” or Analyze. There’s also no counter to instant stealth = Blinding Powder. Stealth is a poorly designed mechanic in this game because when you stealth you are GONE. There is no way to know where that player has moved to once they stealth. You can make educated guesses and that is it. So I fail to see how it’s a problem that the only two skills in the whole game that apply revealed are instant.
Yes, Rapid Fire, and any other channeled skill, connects through stealth if it starts it’s channel before you enter stealth. You know how to stop it? Enter stealth before the channel, dodge, interrupt the channel, LOS, get out of range, blind, if you’re a Mesmer go invulnerable, there are multiple ways to stop this. If you’re a Thief and you have Slight Of Hand (daze target when you Steal from them), just Steal to the Ranger and bam, you interrupted their Rapid Fire. Problem solved.
