Because there is a concealed truth: the “potential of tanky builds”. This is something I hope the devs will keep in mind when tweaking numbers, if they lower the dmg too much, the whole PvP scene will plummet down to a level never seen before

This is more of a “prediction”, based on first hand experiences occurred these last 3 days.

At start I was very happy about my ele air burst ( I’m still! Really can’t complain, the build I’m using is pretty similar to my GW1 ele airlock build counterpart and I’m grateful to Anet); i was able to burst down people quickly and efficiently but now…..this efficiency is gradually going down, this because people are starting to use extremely tanky builds.

In itself this is not bad, this means that the game is quickly reaching a balanced situation; it’s a shame that my damage can’t keep up already but I’m still happy in my “support burst” role, I have no problems with other professions like mesmer and thief taking the main spot as burst dealer.

My fears are now that this burst potential will be lowered too much and as a consequence the tanky builds I’ve seen flying around ( won’t mention them..this is not a nerf thread and at this point it’d be silly anyway) will take over…this is bad, mesmers and thieves will soon be “our only hope” to bring down these tanky specs in a reasonable amount of time

To be frank, in a game mode like conquest you can’t have tanky specs that just sit there and heal/face tank damage all day; I know that the majority of the playerbase like to “play” that way and you devs will try to please them, I know that much.

The snoozefest may come back in a form or another and all I can ask the devs is to avoid a situation where a silly premade uses 3-4 bunkers and rotate from point A to B for an easy win; if you have to lower the damage then try to keep tab of these “surfacing” tanky builds

-NOTE- I’m not a mesmer as many know already, so this is not a concealed “pls don’t nerf me” thread

I don’t have a problem with the increased damage.

I am very concerned about condition builds being driven out due to its lack of damage. It’s either crazy strong due to stacking or a complete joke.

Not all classes have access to stacking conditions. Pre patch, 1-2 stacks of condi was effective enough as long as pressure is applied constantly.

Now, it doesn’t hold a candle to the high DPS bursts.

Condi necro, ranger and warrior….ANY class without access to stacking conditions needs mandatory consideration if this power buff remains untouched

Condi necro and ranger ( necro more than ranger) are about control and condis for them plays a pivotal role. It’s ok to have a control condi class and a burst condi class (engi)

If you consider mesmer as the only class who can stop " the tanky meta" you have already confirmed how over the top mesmer is. Same with other classes you just compare two extremes. Atm you nearly see no bunker because you can’t bunker dis kitten.

Mesmer is at the moment totally broken and there is not much to discuss about this.

Fact is..one extreme(bunker) was not toned down for months, for how long did you have to face double shoutbow/engi nonsense before this patch? Tell me how fun it was to fight people that laughed at you..not even bothering to dodge anything as they could heal up to 100% easily

Wait, what…?
-> Bunker Engi? Do you consider Cele Engi as bunker? O_o
-> Sbow had like 6k burst healing (if he launched all 3 shouts at once), which made him pretty easy to burst (since healing signet doesn’t help vs burst).

Edit: Don’t forget that 3 Shouts Sbow was lacking self source of Stability and was pretty easy to focus due to that.

Your idea of bunker is no concern of mine because in the end of the day the truth remains the same. People were running double shoutbow/engi and winning game by rotating from point A to point B, a concept many realize, what I’ve described it’s not the absolute as many obviously realize..including those grasping at straws

Well, it really matters what definition of bunker is, because calling a bit tanky roamer (cele Engi) a bunker is nothing but missunderstanding at your part or just lack of knowledge about profesion.

With all my hate to Engis, I would say you’re a bit biased.

Lets start with, I want you guys to stay strong, as its fun to fight you.

I actually don’t think the damage needs much change, just the length of time you get to do it.

Your stealth needs a bit of reduction on how much or how long you can do it.

But I can see that stealth combined with how fast you can drop the damage, stuns, has little counter. I am using a trait right now just to combat Mesmer by having the fear when stunned up so that you can not finish your burst combo you started from stealth. I dont like traiting for one particular class, that suggest some sort of imbalance.

I don’t understand why there is a need to break the game to shift the meta. No extremes are good in general and what we have now isn’t balanced at all.
