1) the maps and mechanics. Conquest is just terrible. It is quite possibly the worst mechanic you could have chosen for a pvp environment. It promotes nothing but zerging and running around the map in a clockwork fashion getting quick capture points.
Each map has a unique mechanic? Yes but they are all bad. Sharks=bad, trebs= bad, NPC killing=bad.
2) Extremely imbalanced classes. Everyone knows which ones I am on about. These need sorting out ASAP. People are quitting or simply rerolling into these classes. What’s the point in having all the differently classes when pvp will simply end up with the same 3/4? It’s already starting to happen.
3)The downed state and people not ressing. The downed state is one of the worst mechanics I have ever seen in a pvp environment. It doesn’t add anything to the game, it simply takes stuff away. Kill a player only for him to drop you with his downed skills, since, once again, some classes are far OP than others with what skills are on offer. Take it out or give everyone the same downed skills. This leads me onto ressing. Are players actually so clueless as they don’t see players that could turn the tide of a fight on the floor and ignore them completely, pretty much ending up themselves dead as well. Players like this shouldn’t be allowed into pvp before they pass a test or something.
These are a few of my major disappointments with pvp, which now I will be quitting and quitting GW2 as a game. PVP was the only thing left for me to do since i’ve exhausted PVE. Don’t even have that any more.
You were going to be something great GW2 i’m sorry you ended up the way you did. At least I saved a bit of money on not having to buy into a sub though, that’s one plus about the game.
