Why remove glory before new system is in?

They already mentioned this a while back, which was that glory needs to be removed due to problems it might cause when the new system is in place (hence “maintenance build”) in order for them to have no problems implementing the new system rather than remove the old (glory) and implement the new system all in 1 patch…. flawlessly.

I’ll say first off that I don’t understand their code base, or what they are doing (beyond the fact that the game is predominantly done in C# with the TP being in HTML and JS ugh….). But as a person who works with code everyday, I just don’t think this was their only option. It may have saved them a week or so of development, but I just don’t believe that it was impossible for them to not do this “phase” out methodology that leaves us with a gap for who knows how long….

Because of ANet.
That’s why.
This is my thought: I would hope that there isn’t a huge gap between Glory removal and the new system being implemented. They know that wouldn’t be good for the short term or long term of the game. There is a big announcement this week on Ready Up! I believe that they will announce what the new system is and when it will be implemented. I think it will be implemented next week.
