Why should i play pvp?
So time out.
You’re having communication problems.
You’re facing teams with greater organization and experience then yourself.
You’re having issue forming more organized pugs.
….and then your conclusion is Conquest won’t succeed. It’s like you’re missing a step.
The first two issues you have above, you’ll have in any team game, as organized teams will be more organized with better communication regardless, the same was true for GW1. The last, I heard it is settled better transferring to Anvil Rock, but I can’t say for sure.
I understand your plight, but how you conclude makes no sense to me.
I understand the mike issue, the solo issue as well.
I do suggest adding people you meet in hot-join to your friend list however.
I agree ranking & spectator will do minimal (for the current set-up), but more then that is happening, so wait & see.

Well… Conquest/gw2 pvp is pretty voice chat intensive. The teams performance will greatly improve if everyone’s communicating on ts.
Anyway, you can just ask the point defenders to report incoming people. But thats about it as it’s pretty hard to fight/keep track of things and type the stuff.
So if you’re looking to do serious tpvp games then yes voice chat is needed. But that’s in every team game.
Lol is different as you just hold your lane and it’s a bit less fast-paced. Anyway, if you wanna do LoL serious, you’ll be on voichat too.
So you can’t find a team ‘cus you don’t wanna voice chat plus you don’t wanna search for pugs because those are randoms?
Many groups are being formed without voice chat being req, so dunno whats the problem. And mostly those teams will be class balanced as it’s premade.
Solo queue on the other hand isn’t ideal ‘cus you’ll meet higher skilled teams and get an unbalanced team comp.
About solo queue: They should make it possible to queue and be ‘team leader’ and set a req on classes for the team. No ranks, no other requirements but a class/role. That would make it atleast a bit more balanced.

People, devs of this game included, simply dont understand that there are players who like to queue for pvp alone and dont want to use voice chat.I pvp alone because i absolutely dont want to depend on someone else when im in pvp, if someone helps me when needed good if not more challenging the game is and thats how i like it. You DONT know whats better for me better than me so dont tell me to go and find a team because i dont want to.I just want a fun pvp system where i can join the game when i want to and have fun killing people or getting killed. This is the main reason why less and less people are playing pvp in this game, you dont get to tell majority of your playerbase what to do, we tell YOU what we want and you oblige or we leave and dont buy your products again because i dont have to, there is plenty more fish in the gaming sea.
^Well, then conquest is the wrong mode for people like you. Because as it stands now it requires teamwork and focusses less on killing. To win in conquest you depend on your other teammembers.

What you expect? You don’t wanna play serious (no voice, no real team). It’s fine. But then you shouldn’t wonder about loosing. GW2 tpvp is a team-oriented type. And waiting for patches that makes a tournament completely random is like comparing RA to TA. So it gets quite boring.

What i expect? I expect more fun to play pvp modes and dueling and meaningful pvp progression system all of which should have been out by now, and i wont be playing the game until i have it. And if they dont deliver, well, have fun on an empty servers.
Well, you mean your the only person who’s bored of the actual pvp systems?
Give a-net the time they need. You can’t do more than that.
I agree 100% with you, don’t missunderstand me. But it’s up to you to make it fun or at least tolerable.
I geuss we can give Anet more time, but how much more i dont know..Sr if i didnt made it clear enough guys but my point was that i am a casual,i cant make a tournament team so i dont have enough fun in pvp matches..But also i am not a hardcore LoL player but i can play ranked matches when i want to become more serious.while is pretty much the same as a normal game it adds more excitement cause if i win my ranking goes up…I dont need a team,i dont need a teamspeak….I just have to make my best cause my performance matters..i dont need to communicate all the time with my teamates.
I believe that the conquer mode depends a lot in teamwork while the MOBA games are giving more attention in the personal performance. Some times one and only one player can make the difference, while in GW2 you cant really outshine, you cant feed, you cant outfarm everyone else, its all about coordination and being in the right place the right time :/
Don’t expect any other game modes soon. They will (I like to believe) add in others down the road but they’re focussing on getting the basic features in the game. And these features are about progression/newb friendliness (MMR) and esport accomodations. These will all be based on the conquest game type.
Dueling will be added later probably. As of now you’ll have to wait for Custom arenas and do it there (which isn’t the best solution but it’s still a temporary solution).
About the teamwork part. You’re right. That’s why I don’t like to solo queue anymore. If I come on my necro I won’t mean much unless my team is pretty decent. Why? My necro is nor bunker nor pure burst. If I solo queue I do it on my thief ‘cus I feel like I can mean more for my team and ’turn the tide’.
Overall I’d like to see more pvp progression (which is coming) and the matchmaking (which is coming too). Let’s hope for a good implementation of those.
What I would like to see is the possibility to solo queue and get a hold of the roster composition if you want too. I.e. I solo queu, but while doing that I get the possibility to set a class comp for the roster or to join an existing roster.
This should only be class based, so it shouldn’t show ranks or anything else. If you get a decent class comp to begin with you’ll be more motivated to actually try to win.
This wouldn’t stalemate the meta as the meta isn’t formed by solo queues, it’s made by the teams.

It blows my mind how GW2 doesn’t have voice chat. You can’t expect players to communicate using typing in a game as fast-paced as this one. Even games that move at a snail’s pace like Dota 2 have voice chat.
Short-sighted people have the hardest time grasping this concept: casuals are NEEDED for a game to succeed.
So, let’s gauge this games “casual-friendly” level. In order to succeed, you have to have 4 other people you know get on VOIP. If you do not get 4 other people together each time you want to compete and you do not want to use VOIP every time you compete, then your chance of success is little to none. In fact, the likely outcome is you will be playing a game where you are dominated.
Yep, that sounds like the anti-casual game. I personally get a group together every time and we get on vent. I certainly wish there was a solo / duo queue where I didn’t have to do that, because it’s not my preferred method. All of you chastising this man for speaking what are his issues, you need to consider this player is the majority of what will make a game successful. When you run him off and tell him “he’s doing it wrong” then you will most likely be greatly saddened when you realize that you are one of only a handful of people left playing the game. Hmmm…actually that is sounding pretty familiar at this time in PVP. Odd how that works.
TL;DR: People like the OP are required to make a game successful. When a game fails to cater at all to them, you lose them, thus, losing the game entirely.
Top teams in Lol , have voice comm. And because of the short reaction time of control, you absolutely need a a talk program. Idk what to tell you. Maybe, you will find a team that will let you be on voice as a listen only…still a handicap.
the future matchmaking system changes might make finding a more casual friendly team easier.
I solo queued until I found other good players who wanted to team up. Once I found some guys I really enjoyed playing with we became a team. Might try that? Granted its a bit harder with everyone rolling the same builds as the current meta.
Am I good?… I’m good.
In end i find out that theres no reason to play pvp..Im really sad since i want to much but i dont want to be dominated all the time by other guys cause they have teamspeak…Back to LoL then,i have a feeling that many will follow.
It needs pretty much teamwork to be successful here. So in your position I would change the game as you said.
