Silentshoes (Thief), Wind of the Woods (condi ranger)

Both Ranked and Unranked are about 15 to 20 secs in Q.
Is there any selective matchmaking going on at all?
I’ve had nothing but blowouts for two hours.

It’s filtering by MMR only, and it’s being generous about that.
I see. Explains how so many of my teammate get 0 points. I’m done for the evening. Can’t say I enjoyed the test.

I played only unranked tonight (with my second account) i had terrible people in the match (with and against).
Queue very fast but match quality was really bad.
I only played “solo” tonight, yesterday only “solo” but the match quality was really better and the queue longer.
Honestly i prefere to wait 2-3 min more but having better quality match.
Or at least, tell us if there is basically no filter so i go in premade and i avoid to go crazy to carry “uncarryable” people.

I am playing a mobile support thief at the moment who STRONGLY supports a team fight…if the team can fight, that is.
I spent a lot of time running around capping and waiting for a team fight where I could make a difference. It was ugly, ugly, ugly tonight. Teammates dropping in a few hits. Me with nobody to assist.

I had a 4 min 11 sec timer when I read this, then before print screen I got pop vs a 4+1 team.
Undo it.
I’m getting top region players premade vs me with all solo queues. The good teams don’t like it either.
ANet may be tweaking the match making parameters every couple days to see the outcomes. When you know the true effect of each tuning parameter, you can do a pretty good job of choosing each for the best overall outcome.
Also, the social experiment aspect is probably entertaining.
Yesterday I had around 8 maches at prime time EU, 2 of them where 4vs5 ( one became a 2vs4 after 30 seconds), 4 where premade vs pugs and in the middle of all that I had 2 “normal” matches.
A guild/premade group should not fight a pug group, it’s like matching a Serie A football team against the team of your local church.
I liked the fast Q but not its not worth playing with 3 perma downstate teefs that couldnt kill a mesmer once all game on my team.
Yeah last night I had no competitive games when 5 man q and the usual cat-hearding newbie games when solo ranked…
Einstein once said, “Doing the same thing everyday over and over and expecting a different result is insanity.”
This is all I see on the Pvp boards. People playing the same broken matches, where promises of fixes are made, day after day, month after month and now year after year people still keep hoping this time it will get it right, and then get disappointed when it doesn’t. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Enough time has been given, no solution has been found. One either needs to accept it will never work and be ok with that, or move on before more time is wasted.
In any other walk of life, whether business or job etc..a sane person would’ve moved on by now.
I had mixed results. I started out with really good matches today, close ties and great teammates. Then it all went downhill. I lost 4 matches in a row, mostly by just a simple lack of understanding pvp. When 4 of my teammates go home at the start of the match, try to take far alone with 2 defenders, then accuse the enemy of zerging when they’re just clearly defending their early two caps…I worry.
Seriously, how did I get matched up with these people?
Yes. Yesterday was crap. Played ~10 ranked matches, lose, win, lose, lose, win, win.. and so on. And some 4v5 and that bug that the “match is ready” pop up during the match and my whole team pressed “ready”. Since the enemy were premade they canceled this and I played alone vs a premade team the others joined another match. Lost several matches because of this. 2 days ago it was perfect. Q was longer Bit i dont mind if i get a quality better match.
There is no happy medium, people complaining queues taking too long so they change the system and now people are wanting to wait longer for better matches. People need to make up their minds.
I will too rather wait 5 minutes for a match, if it doesn’t put me in group with pve people.
I played a total of four matches last night
1 unranked = 1 win.
3 ranked = 2 win.
It’s been pretty decent matching me up. Probably need to play more to see though.
People need to make up their minds.
Exactly.
I had a lot of fast queues last night and there were some ugly matches as a result. I would prefer not to play against players who seemed outright new to the game, and it’s not good for the pvp population if they are going against dragon ranks, etc.
I obviously don’t speak for others but I’m willing to wait a few minutes if I get good matches out of it.
During offpeak hours ranked arenas now look like hotjoin. No one is capping decapping, people take side buffs in temple, everyone rushes to big fight on mid point etc.
