Are thieves over the top? Well, I play a bunker ele I don’t think they are.
Are most thief issues brought up on the forums are l2p issues? I would say most are and a few are not.

However I STILL think thief class needs some change and/or nerf depends how you look at it. The burst damage MUST go. Why? because it’s killing the pvp player base . For GW2 to have good pvp we need LOTS of people playing it above any other issue. Put yourself in the shoes of a new player. You are trying pvp out for the first time. You get in spvp with your started gear and BOOM you get back stabbed for 10k and die in 2 sec. This keep happening over and over. What would you do? 99% of the people would say kitten this I’m going to play another game where I have a slim chance of winning.

If we want pvp in GW2 to not turn into ghost town thief BURST damage must be nerfed or we will not get many new players in pvp if any at all. Toon down burst and give thief more tools to survive.

my thief, 17k hp is being killed 24/7 by phantaasm mesmer builds which , with only illus. berserk take out 15k hp. only a skill. but ofc my fault because im glass cannon. no?k
so why every other glass cannon should have some advantages?

If they make their dodge skills deal better DPS while lowering the dodge frame just to make them a legit high risk high reward class, then maybe that wouldn’t be bad.

Since people are negative about nerfs, how about we buff to balance then?

I was in those shoes, ALL of us were in those shoes. Most of us asked for help, learned more about combat mechanics, and adapted by becoming much better players overall and gained a lot of valuable experience.

Now I don’t necessarily disagree that burst should be adjusted (not nerfed to crap, not erased, just eased up a bit.) However, I don’t see why these new players should not have to go through some of these processes to improve.

If they leave the game the second they join because “omg this guy burst be down whatamievendoing nerfplz,” chances are they would’ve left because of some other reason (bunkers, don’t like combat, can’t dodge, don’t know what condition removal is, etc.)

Also, giving thieves more survival options instead of burst will likely generate far more tears than we’ve seen yet, and this is coming from a survival-based thief.

Thieves are fine as they are if you play a glass cannon then yes, they will get a high crit on you but if you some sort of toughness their crit won’t go any higher than a 5k crit. But then you have to think about if they are going full glass cannon they are also very squishy themselves. They are finally balanced which all of you were wishing for was for the thief to get nerfed and they did many times. ( my main is thief btw )

It’s kind of fun until you hit Deer, then burst kills noone. I have played the last two nights and not seen one single burst thief. Seen a few Blossom spammers… who die a lot and very little else thief wise. I play all toons in there by the way but when I play thief it is P/D.

Not really, if your team has half a brain they would call out immobilizes etc and thieves will still get insta kills.

Every profession or ability you design in an MMO doesn’t only have to be fun for the user, it also has to be “fun” to play against.

The Thief is obviously not fun to play against, regardless of actual power.

i really feel like the thief is fine as it is, just PLEASE FIX STEALTH!!!! when you get hit by a high crit dmg skill you want to be able to react to it, but when someone that is still invisible after being revealed for whatever reason (attack or w/e), then they should seriously POP into visibility. if stealth is dealt with i will have no problems with leaving thiefs as is

Burst and stealth have both got to addressed.

I’m tired of getting downed in half a second by a ridiculous burst thief, even If I get the off chance to avoid the initial attack I have to prance around watching him come in and out of stealth every 2 seconds.
