Why tourny wins in monthly PvP achievement?
I put a few messages in the heart of the mists this weekend and filled up a tourney group in a matter of minuets. Got everyone into voice chat together and throughout the night we got 2nd place twice and won 2 tourneys with a complete PuG group. It really isn’t hard to have a little success in a free tourney.
So this is why there have been so many low level people have been in tournaments. I didn’t even think about it. This does kind of suck for those who are new to pvp and want to get the monthly. We played a team last night where the max lvl of the enemy was 6! Thank the odds that I wasn’t randomly put with that team.
Am I good?… I’m good.
Don’t 8 full teams have to be assembled for a tournament to start though? Or will they start with less?
yes their needs to be 8 full teams it doesnt take long just que up and either talk with your team or jump in a hotjoin you have maybe a 5min wait unless your trying to que at like 6am or something
The tournament interface isn’t very clear right now, but if you choose “submit roster” you will get put with four other people in a random group. You’ll usually lose but often you will find yourself with very skilled players. So you don’t have to “find a group” to do a tournament, although it definitely helps.
The “teams registered” text is also misleading. My understanding is that the number shown is the number of teams from your server that are waiting in a queue, which is usually 1/8 (unless you’re on a high-pop PvP server; on SBI I see up to 4/8).
However, tournaments are cross-server and so as long as you’re not queueing at, say, 8:30 in the morning you should get into a tournament within about five minutes or less.

This clears everything up, why I thought only 1 team was ever signed up and how to hot-join a tournament. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Rank in this game is just a grind in pvp, it means nothing. My rank is 20ish, my second account is rank 1ish. So if I were to rank up a lot to like 40, then swap to my other account and then do paid tourneys people would think I’m a noob now wouldn’t they.
Rank only really shows that they have played the pvp for a duration. I’ll also add that it doesn’t show if they are glory hounds or actually play the game. For e.g. my friend runs with the zerg, gets lots of kills and lots of glory, we play about the same amount and he is rank 30ish. What do I do? counter the zerg of course, get the win for the team while they fight in the middle and get about 20-30% of the glory he gets.
Tourneys don’t need a team to do, although it does help alot if you have coms and a good build setup. You can que solo. Press free tourney on the left, then click roster then click submit and you will be qued. Free tourney wins count toward this monthly, keep at it though as you may run into the dreaded premade who will stomp you into the ground.
PuG que PuG would be nice, but would probably not pop either tourney as much
