Some players will seemingly weapon stow immediately after every skill — is there a general reason for doing so?

I’m aware of skill specific reasons for this (i.e. mesmer gs stuff) where there is (or was) a measurable gain in the mechanical efficiency of the skill. Also, I’m aware that this is a one of the better ways to cancel-cast.

But why stow in between every skill use? it is an after cast thing? combat state relate? I guess there’s no reason not too…anyone willing to explain?

Those players are trying to exploit a bug. If you are using a skill, and you stow your weapon just as it deals damage, you may be able to avoid the after-cast, and use the skill a few milliseconds faster than intended.

They are most likely using macros to do this. You can try reporting them for botting, or let exploits@arena.net know about them.

yeah, other than avoiding certain parts of autoattack rotation and avoiding later parts of certain skills, such as thief d/p 3, there is really no valid reason to stow after every single cast. Then again outright blaming these people for macros and exploiting is pretty unreasonable.

Also some people believe that you get ooc faster if your weapon is stowed, that is however not true.

I like to stow my bow inbetween battles, but purely for practical reasons, carrying a longbow in ones arms is quite heavy for a young sylvari

when i stow weapon on warrior it can end the animation allow you to move on to the next attack or cancel an attack. Kinda like in a fighting game you can cancel skills or attacks. Thats why i stow weapon. I don’t know about any bugs though.
