Ok simple question here: are pvp leaderboards perminent or will our stats reset at some point in the future? I ask this because those that had a rough start, did not use voip with premade teams, and did solo ques multiple times will in general have a much worse ratio than those that have never entered tournies solo and have always had premade teams (especially with voip). I say this from personal experience because I myself had a pretty rough start in pvp the first month or so of guildwars (as I was learning the game), and not knowing that leaderboards were comming out I often solo qued, not caring about my win/lose ratio. By the time paid tournaments came out I already had a fairly solid team going – free tournaments became so easy (it was basically my team with voip vsing random teams and mostly new guilds), that my team stopped doing free tournies completely and moved on to paid tournaments where the competition was much tougher. (Tougher competition = more loses but also more fun). Anybody that wanted to raise their win/lose ratio at the time could of course have just farmed free tournies for easy wins with their premades. Reseting the leaderboards could (and I am pretty sure it would)make some people really mad, but if they are really top players im sure they will have no problems getting back into the top 100 list very fast. On another note, I think that if leaderboards do ever get reset the top players should of course be recognized, possibly in a similar way to how there were trophies in Temple Of Balthazar in Guildwars1.

There alot of confusion about leaderboards right now. Simply put, they only started gathering rating data since the late February patch and only win/loss data to disagree since the march patch (tad confusing). Everything prior to that is irrelevant regarding placement so that includes the old paid tournaments and free tournies.

At this moment, a reset would be horrendous. It’s bad enough as it it and already ranking is as volatile as can be. The best thing you can do is just keep playing and winning from now on.

I would expect a reset to come if seasonal ladders come in or the feature of team and solo tournaments come in and there’s seperated leaderboards for each one.
