Rank: Top 250 since Season 2
#5 best gerdien in wurld
(edited by Saiyan.1704)
Game #1
Our team
Rev, Thief, DH, War, DH (0 self sustaining/supporting classes)
Theirs
Ele, Ele, Ranger, Necro, DH (3 self sustaining/supporting classes and 1 heavy AoE Necro class)
Legacy of the Foefire map… just guess how that match turned out. For the record we downed Necro 3 times during a particular mid fight, thought that was humorous.
Lost with -2 more points than usual because Matchmaking only sees numbers on paper and thought the odds were against us.
Game #2 w/ pic
Our Team
Ele, Ranger, Necro, War, DH
Theirs
DH, DH, DH, Rev, Thief
The below pic sums up how that game ended. We had 1 on home, rest mid, thief couldn’t do jack squat. We darn near had a meta comp… blue team, well… matchmaking gave them the shaft because it still only reads numbers on paper and thought everything was fine.

I’d agree but then there’s the problem of people rerolling classes after q pop
How did their team kill anything in your first example? That team is extremely slow to rotate, you had plenty of tools to win that.

Thanks for bringing that up because that’s that’s exactly what Anet needs to stop emphasizing. I picked up Overwatch and in 1 week of playing it and I mastered 5 classes off the bat. Intricate skill systems with most MMORPG’s like GW2, the average player will not play more than 1 class.
Maybe matchmaking doesn’t need to have a static un-swappable system but Matchmaking can definitely do a better job at creating decent team compositions for both parties. I’ve yet to see some one swap to another Ele even though we already have one, players just don’t do that stuff because they like to play the class they’re on rather than taking advantage of compositions.

They out sustained us in mid very easily and the Necro simply carried their damages. We could last for a bit but ended up constantly wiping mid and couldn’t pull any stomps.
Or we’d stomp 2 people in mid but couldn’t take it, because 2xEle or ele/ranger self sustained long enough to get respawns back.
Some one lost the 1v1 fight vs ranger at home.
At one point we kept far & home but that didn’t last.
Ele+DH > Rev + dh on a 2v2 fight at far so we didn’t win that.
You’re right about one thing though, we fought in mid for way too long and our Rev should have been decapping far/home too. I also could have learned how to Ele and a Meteor could have also hit while we were playing. But it didn’t.. and I don’t.

First matchup is an easy win with that combination for your team with players of equal skills. I really don’t think you can blame that on the compositions.
dh is op in pvp since they made points the exact radius as traps. No they wont address this since pve is superior? lol Anet busted a nut to have esports in gw2 but it’s dead because they have no idea what they are doing. mechanics its a great game, but game play both wvw/pvp is complete kitten. ya kittenc you anet. lol #kitten

I am pretty sure that DH traps, just like ranger traps, have a smaller radius than the average capture point in PvP.

Nope DH traps are same size as MOST of the capture point. (legacy mid is a well known exception)
And LOL at DH being described by OP as a non self sustaining class. hahaha
